Approval of Minutes Approve the minutes of the March 18, 2004 meeting Old Business A. Youth Advisory Committee Report 4. Public Comments This is the opportunity for members of the public to address the Commission regarding items not otherwise on the agenda. The Ralph M. Brown Act prohibits the Commission from acting on any matter that is not on the agenda. The Chairperson may limit speakers to three minutes each. 5. New Business A. Pershing Park Playground Committee meets on Friday, April 16th at 10:00am. Two neighborhood residents Q11U L1llGG 1­V11ll111Jslollers will UG JG1V111g or, 611e Committee. 2. Washington Park Playground is open for use; dedication ceremony will be on , ll7tAn Satu davAat Maul 3. Preparing for reduction in staff due to upcoming budget cuts. Tree maintenance to switch from 4 to 5-year pruning cycles. Loss of at least 2 parks maintenance positions (6 in 2-year period). Recreation Division L Spring vacation camp activities were successful: Rec Camp; Golf; Bab_ysitting, etc. 2. Spring Seniors and Youth computer class was full with 25 senior citizens and 15 students. All attended post -class dinner. 3. Teen concert conducted w/ BHS had over 100 attendees and raised over $400 for Shelter Network. 4. Upcoming Teen activities: Paintball May 1st, YAC Dance April 23rd, 5. Afterschool computer program at BIS is full with 15 enrolled and 17 on wait list. 6. Summer brochures are at the printer and will be delivered to homes by the end of the month. 7. Preschool fundraising effort has already received $2,500.
