Gentlemen: Pe: Sewage Disposal Plant Enlargements, Consulting Engineering Services Transmitted herewith is a copy of a letter, dated September 27, from Harry N. Jenks, our Consulting Sanitary Engineer. Vie re- commend herewith that Mr, Jenks be engaged to perform the serv- ices enumerated in the letter at a fee of "150.00 per month, cover- ing t.:e period of construction and two months of initial operation of the enlarged plant* This is a technical service that Mr. Jenks is well equipped to render and one the State allocation Board will authorize as an allowable construction engineering cost. Dear Mr. Fitch: 63 Crescent Drive Palo Alto, California September 27, 1950 Subject: Consulting Engineering Services, Sewage Treatment Works Enlargements In conformity with my understanding of your wishes, and in continuation of my work to date on the preparation of plans and specifications for the City of Burlingame Sewage Works Enlargements, I offer to serve the City as Consulting Sanitary Engineer in a super- visory capacity, and in collaboration with yourself and your engin- eering department, on the construction and initial operation of this project, in accordance with the following general outline of the work to be done: (1) Throughout the course of construction of the project I will serve as your Consulting Engineer on matters pertaining to the compliance of the contractor with the plans and specifications, par- ticularly in relation to the review and approval of equipment and pipework drawings and details. (2) I will personally inspect the progress of the work periodically as the best interests of the work may require. (3) The work of Resident Engineer, and all field surveys and inspection and checking of structural details shall be accomplished by your Engineering Department. (4) Upon completion of the work of construction, I will supervise the work of placing the sewage works enlargements in opera- tion. I will advise the plant operator and yourself in the details of operation, sna will assist in the establishment of a satisfactory operating schedule, for a period of two months after the project has been placed in service. Upon being duly authorized by the City, I will continue and complete the consulting engineering work as above outlined, for an engineering retainer of �150.00 per month, covering the period of construction and initial operation.
