AFTER FINAL HEARING UPON T-TE aElITI0N FOIL' GRANTING OF � Vl,1iI- .tiNCE IN THE USE OF T��,' PIHOPYS-RTY DESCRIBED AS LOT 1, CORBIT`1' SUBDIVISION IN THE CITY OF BURLINGAIVE The matter of the application for a granting; of a variance in use to the property known as Lot 1, Corbitt Subdivision_ in the 'City of Burlingame, from second residential to commercial, came on before the City Council for hearing on 1Fionday, 1':ay 15, 1950, it appearing; to the Council that due notice of the hearing had been given by the City Clerk in the manner and for the time provided by law; And it appearing to the Council that the entire matter had been referred to the Planning Commission of the City for its investigation and consideration, and the Planning Commission reported to the Council that it had held public hearings as prescribed by law and after due deliberation oi' the entire matter, the Planning Commission decided and recommended to the Council, that it `could be for the benefit and advantage of the City of Burlingame if the owners of said property be granted the reauested variance in the use of said property by�permitting limited use thereof for commercial purposes; And it appearing that at the meeting held on May 15, no person appeared in opposition_ to the granting of the variance, and the Council having duly considered the matter and believing; it to be for the best interest of the City that said variance be granted; IT IS, THEM —YORE, HEREBY 1fESOLVED AND ORDERED: That a variance in the use of the property known as Lot 1, Corbitt Subdivision in the City of Burlingame from second residential to a limited commercial use or purpose be granted; The such variance in use shall continue as long; as the said property is used for the commercial purposes hereinafter specified. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the said property may be used for• the conducting and selling and dispensing of foods,, groceries, drugs, books, notions, the operation of a fountain service, dyeing and cleaning business, ladies and men's apparel, barber shop, real estate office, contractor's office, and any business of like character., but in no event shall the said property be used for the purpose of conducting a machine shop, garage, servicd station, or any similar businesses ithout first obtaining a permit from the City Council therefor. BE IT PUItTh;R RESOLVED that the City Council hereby reserves the right to determine the character of the business that shall be conducted on said premises and no business shall The given a pe.-mait or license to carry on in said premises without fi rst receiving Council approval therefor.
