FOR DISCUSSION:
1. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION TO REZONE LOT 200 BLOCK 27, LYON do HOAG
FROM R-1,,TO R-2., MRS. ROSA FACCINI, 210 ARUNDEL ROAD.
Mr. Dino MencArini addressed the Commission in behalf of Mrs. Faocini
and asked for an opinion as to. the possibility of rezoning the above
property so that a separate dwelling might be constructed on the rear
of the lot.
The Commission advised Mr. Mencarini that it is not in favor of re-
zoning the area in question from R-1 to R-2, and spot rezoning is
discouraged in any part of the City. However, he was informed that
he could file his formal application and request a public hearing.
2. COMPLAINT RF: ILLUMINATED SIGN ON STANDARD OIL STATION AT
EL CAMINO REAL AND ADELINE DRIVE.
The Planning Consultant stated that the Mayor had referred to hint the
matter of a nuisance reported by Mrs. Margaret Lake, created by the
lighted sign on the above service station. The property owners on
Highway Road have requested that some action be taken to control or
eliminate the illumination at night.

Oil Company the request of the property owners.

1913 abc, 1915 and 1921.
The Commissioners received copies of the latest draft of the suggested

1921 for temporary accessory buildings other than those specifically
covered in parts "a" and "b". The Commission concurred. Hearing was

Meeting called to 'order at 8:00 p.m.; Chairman Henderson presiding.
In the absence of Secretary Diederichsen, the Chair appointed Com-
missioner Martin acting Secretary.
Minutes of the regular meeting of January 23, 1956, and the study
meeting of February 13, 1956, approved as written.
HEARINGS:
1. SUGGESTED AMENDMENTS IN ZONING ORDINANCE
The Chair announced that this was the time set for public hearing on
the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, Sections 1911, 1912,
1913 aba, 1915 and 1921, notice having been published as required.
The Chair requested. the Planning Consultant to read the amendments
and invited comments from the floor.
Commissioner Mitchell questioned the provisions of Section 1921
"Temporary Accessory Buildings" requiring the issuance of permits
for storage sheds and field quarters on construction jobs.
The Commission concurred that control should be exercised over these
structures but that special application should not be necessary for
their construction.
Commissioner Martin suggested that permission for such temporary
buildings might be part of the building permit and subject to the
same authority.
The City Engineer.- stated that provision could be made to withhold
final clearance on a project until any temporary buildings had been
removed.
It was thereafter determined that the City Attorney and the Planning
Consultant rewrite Section 1921 for presentation at the regular meet-
ing of March 26, 1956.
There being no further business, the meeting was regularly adjourned
at 9:15 P. m.
