Pub. Works -Marr Mitchell Sti very Meeting called to order at 9:10 p.m.; Chairman Henderson presiding. FOR DISCUSSION: 1. REQUEST FOR CONSIDERATION TO REZONE LOT 200 BLOCK 27, LYON do HOAG FROM R-1,,TO R-2., MRS. ROSA FACCINI, 210 ARUNDEL ROAD. Mr. Dino MencArini addressed the Commission in behalf of Mrs. Faocini and asked for an opinion as to. the possibility of rezoning the above property so that a separate dwelling might be constructed on the rear of the lot. The Commission advised Mr. Mencarini that it is not in favor of re- zoning the area in question from R-1 to R-2, and spot rezoning is discouraged in any part of the City. However, he was informed that he could file his formal application and request a public hearing. 2. COMPLAINT RF: ILLUMINATED SIGN ON STANDARD OIL STATION AT EL CAMINO REAL AND ADELINE DRIVE. The Planning Consultant stated that the Mayor had referred to hint the matter of a nuisance reported by Mrs. Margaret Lake, created by the lighted sign on the above service station. The property owners on Highway Road have requested that some action be taken to control or eliminate the illumination at night. The Chair requested the Planning Consultant to convey to the Standard Oil Company the request of the property owners. 3. PROPOSED AMENDMENTS TO ZONING ORDINANCE - SECTIONS 1911, 1912, 1913 abc, 1915 and 1921. The Commissioners received copies of the latest draft of the suggested amendments. All sections were approved as submitted, but Commissioner Mitchell pointed out that some provision should be included in Section 1921 for temporary accessory buildings other than those specifically covered in parts "a" and "b". The Commission concurred. Hearing was set for the regular meeting of March 26. Meeting adjourned.at 10:00 p.m. Respectfully submitted, EVERETT K. KINDIG Secretary Pro tem CITY OF BURLINGAME PLANNING COMMISSION MINUTES Regular Meeting February 27, 1956 COMMISSIONERS PRESENT COMMISSIONERS ABSENT OTHERS PRESENT Henderson Diederiahsen City Attorney-Karmel Kindig Mattock Plan -Consult. -Mann Martin Dir.Pub.Works-Mary Mitchell Stivers Meeting called to 'order at 8:00 p.m.; Chairman Henderson presiding. In the absence of Secretary Diederichsen, the Chair appointed Com- missioner Martin acting Secretary. Minutes of the regular meeting of January 23, 1956, and the study meeting of February 13, 1956, approved as written. HEARINGS: 1. SUGGESTED AMENDMENTS IN ZONING ORDINANCE The Chair announced that this was the time set for public hearing on the proposed amendments to the Zoning Ordinance, Sections 1911, 1912, 1913 aba, 1915 and 1921, notice having been published as required. The Chair requested. the Planning Consultant to read the amendments and invited comments from the floor. Commissioner Mitchell questioned the provisions of Section 1921 "Temporary Accessory Buildings" requiring the issuance of permits for storage sheds and field quarters on construction jobs. The Commission concurred that control should be exercised over these structures but that special application should not be necessary for their construction. Commissioner Martin suggested that permission for such temporary buildings might be part of the building permit and subject to the same authority. The City Engineer.- stated that provision could be made to withhold final clearance on a project until any temporary buildings had been removed. It was thereafter determined that the City Attorney and the Planning Consultant rewrite Section 1921 for presentation at the regular meet- ing of March 26, 1956. In the absence of Secretary Diederichsen, the Chair appointed Com- missioner Kindig acting Secretary. The Chair announced that this was the time set for public hearing on the resubdivision in Millsdale Industrial Park as requested by Wilsey and Ham, notice having been published as required. HEARINGS: 1. RESUBDIVISI ON OF LOT 6, BLOCK 10 - UNIT NO. 5 MI LLSDALE INDUSTRIAL PA RK d The City Engineer presented the map to the Commission and Mr. Van Zandt of Wilsey and Ham stated that permission is requested to sub -divide Lot 6 into two parcels, thereby creating Lot 6A with a width of 69.67 feet MOL and.Lot 6B with a width of 30.75 feet MOL. Commissioner Martin expressed opposition to the lot lines as shown and questioned the advisability of permitting 30 foot lots. Mr. Van Zandt, in reply to the City Engineer, stated he would not ob- ject to altering the lot lines, and it was thereafter moved by Com- missioner Martin and seconded by Commissioner Kindig that the map be approved subject to Lot 6A becoming a part of Lot 5 and considered as one lot; Lot 6B becoming a part of Lot 7 and considered as one lot. Motion carried unanimously on roll call of members present. 2. RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 19 and 21, BLOCK 10 - UNIT NO. 5 MILLSDALE INDUSTRIAL PARK. Mr. Van Zandt advised the Commission that permission is requested to sub -divide Lot 19 into two parcels, thereby creating Lot 19A with a width of 62.12 feet MOL and Lot 19B with a width of 38.30 feet MOL; and Lot 21 into two parcels, thereby creating Lot 21A with a width of 118.49 feet MOL and Lot 21B with a width of 27.12 feet MOL. Mr. Van Zan-dt agreed to remove the lot lines to eliminate the narrow lots, and it was thereafter moved by Commissioner Martin and seconded by Commissioner Kindig that the map be approved subject to Lot 19-A becoming a part of Lot 18 and considered as one lot; Lot 19-B becom- ing a part of Lot 20 and considered as one lot; Lot 21-B becoming a Planning Commission Minutes Special Meeting -March 12, 195E part of Lot 22 and considered as one lot. Motion carried unanimously on roll call of members present. Mr. Van Zandt was requested to submit the revised maps to the City Engineer for verification. 3. RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 9, 10, 11, BLOCK 6 - UNIT NO. 3 MILLSDALE INDUSTRIAL PARK Mr, Van Zandt stated the resubdivision is required for railroad spur track purposes. It was thereafter moved by Commissioner Kindig and seconded by Commissioner Martin that the map be approved as submit- ted. Motion carried unanimously on roll call of members present. 4. RESUBDIVISION OF LOTS 12 THROUGH 23, BLOCK 6, UNIT NO. 3 MILLS - DALE INDUSTRIAL PARK Mr. Van Zandt advised that this resubdivision is also required for railroad spur track, and it was thereafter moved by Commissioner Mitchell and seconded by Commissioner Kindig that the map be approv- ed as submitted.
