Meeting called to order at 8:00 P.M.; Chairman Martin presiding.
Minutes of the Regular Meeting of September 24, 1956, the Adjourned
Regular Meeting and Study Meeting of October 8, 1956, approved as sub-
mitted.

1. Trousdale Construction Company for temporary office building.
A communication dated October 18, 1956, was read from the Trousdale
Construction Company requesting permission to place a temporary office
building at the rear of the property at 2500 Trousdale Drive (Lot 8,
Block 2-5, Mills Estate No, 5).
Mr. Charles King of Trousdale Company, in attendance, advised that
their tract and sale offices are presently located in a dwelling on
the property. This is a permanent structure which will be reconverted
to a dwelling and sold for that purpose at a future time. It is
planned to moved the temporary structure on to the rear of the lot for
additional office space.
The Planning Consultant reported that he had inspected the location
and there is ample space for the second building.
There being no objections presented, it was moved by Commissioner
Henderson and seconded by Commissioner Kindig that a permit be issued
to the Trousdale Construction Company for (a) the use of the existing
dwelling at 2500 Trousdale Drive as an office building, for a period
of six months from date, and (b) the placement of a temporary office
building to the rear of the existing dwelling for a period of six
months from date. Motion carried unanimously on roll call.
Chairman Martin advised Mr. King that the Commission would hear a
petition for a renewal at the end of the six-month period.
PETITIONS:
1. Final Map - El Quanito Acres.
Commissioners received for recommendation the .final Map of "EL QUANITO
-1-
ACRES" Subdivision, lying between Canyon Road and Summit Drive.
In response to the Chair, Planning Consultant Mann reported that all
provisions of the Map were in agreement with the previously approved
Tentative Map.
Reference was made to a change in the Tentative Map requested by the
City Council and the City Engineer explained that a stipulation set
by the City Council, in accepting the Tentative Map, with reference
to a sidewalk on one side of the street, would be part of the "Agree-
ment for Improvements".
Questioned by Members, the Planning Consultant stated that space had
been reserved for future tree planting should the Park Commission
desire additional trees.
A motion was t-hereafter introduced by Commissioner Henderson that
the Final Map of "EL QUANITO ACRES", as submitted, be recommended to
the City Council for acceptance, seconded by Commissioner Kindig and
unanimously carried on roll call.
UNFINISHED BUSINESS:
1. Contractor's Storage Yard.
Morris K. Daley, General Contractor, in attendance, presented for
Commission review the elevations of the storage yard proposed for the
property at 1147 California Drive.
Commissioners discussed the project with Mr. Daley and agreed to hear
his Variance application at the meeting of November 13.
REPORTS:
1. Chairman Martin reported on his attendance at a recent Park
Commission meeting, accompanied by Commissioner Kindig and Planning
Consultant Mann. A plan for handling related problems on new develop-
ments throughout the City was discussed.
Chairman Martin advised that for purposes of coordination between
Commissions, the Park Commission would be represented at all future
meetings of the Planning Commission and the Planning Commission repre-
sented at such meetings of the Park Commission as occasion may demand.
2. The Planning Consultant advised of a request from the City
Council for a more comprehensive ordinance regulating the size and lo-
cations of driveways in all districts of the City.
3. The City Engineer stated that the City had reached an agree-
ment with the owners of the Rude Building, 1862-1864 Rollins Road, on
the removal of the paving from the 4-1/2 foot strip dedicated to the
City for planting.

Chairman Martin requested the City Engineer to discuss this with the
representative of the Park Commission in attendance.
4- Members were urged to attend the Bay Area Planning Com-
missioners Conference in San Francisco on November 30, Chairman
Martin reported that former Burlingame Planning Commissioner James
H. Mitchell will take a prominent part in the Conference discussions.
There being no further business, the meeting was regularly adjourned
at 8:40 p,m.
