The meeting was called to order at 8:00 P. M. by Chairman Mitchell.
Chairman Payne and three other members of the :Millbrae Planning
Commission, who were invited to attend the Planning Commission study
meeting, were introduced.
Mr. Buel Proffitt requested an opinion as to usage of two buildings
he proposes to erect on Rollins Road. One building to be used as a
wax paper processing plant; the other building for storage, distri-
bution and manufacture of light metal scaffolding., Processing in
both plants to be conducted entirely within this buildings. Mr.
Proffitt agreed to procure a statement from the Dixie Company, the
manufacturer of wax paper, giving a brief outline as to the method
of processing that type of product. The statement to include plans
for sewerage, waste wax collection, the possibility of odor and, or,
smoke. These details as well as plans for the buildings are expec-
ted to be presented to the commission at its next regular meeting.
Mr. Lee Ham of Wilsey & Co., Engineers for the Atlantic Life Insur-
ance Company, submitted tentative map for Millsdale and adjoining
acreage showing proposed zoning of that section of Millsdale which
is presently unclassified; a tentative map for Mills Estate #1, and
a tentative map for Mills Estate #3.
A question arose from the citizens present in the audience relative
to a map of the Atlantic Life Insurance Compan;yfs scheme for the
overall development of Mills Estate. City Attorney Karmel stated
that the developer was required to submit tentative maps for those
parcels of land which he propssEs to develop in the immediate .fixture,
and is not required under law to submit a map for the entire prop-
erty unless he chooses to develop the same.
Other comments, statements and objections were raised by the follow-
ing who were present: Mr. O1Connell and Mr. H:immell, on drainage;
and Mr. Jay Burns on school site requirements. Mr. Lee Ham of Wilsey
and Co. made a general reply, and agreed to furnish the Commission
with an overall layout of the property giving the owners plans for
its general development.
The meeting adjourned at 10:45 P. M,
Respectfully submitted
CHARLES W. ROOTH, Secretary
