1. RESUBDIVISI'UN - Parcel "A" - being a portion of Lot 2, Block 1.

A proposed resubdivision was submitted to the Commission by Mr. Jack Dodey;

Commissioners reviewed the map and offered no criticism,
The Chair recognized biro Martin Dinkelspiel, attorney for the owners, In
attendance, who dlscusased the application briefly.
The matter was thereafter scheduled for public hearing at the regular
meeting of the Commission, January 27, 1958.
2, RESUBDIVISIOA Parcel "B" - Block Za Mills Estate Noo
A proposed resubdivisioa ofthe lands of the California Teachers
Association was submitted ffor study. Mr. Jack Doveys engineer, reprem
seated the owners and stated that the proposal will create Parcel "GI,
with frontage on Trousdale Drive,
Mr. LeAore, representative of Coldwell-Banker Company, agent for the
owners, discussed the map with Commissioners and outlined the over-all
development program planned by the California Teachers" Association.
The application was scheduled for hearing on January,27,, 1958.
3. TENTATIVE MAP - Inxold Industrial Park
The tentative map of Ingold Industrial Parka a proposed subdivision of ap-
proximately 10 acres in Hillsdale Industrial Park No. 5 (north of Purity
Stores property) was submitted for study by Mr. Jack Dovey, enginggr,
representing Ernest Zngold, owner,
A communication dated January 9, 1958, from Trousdale Construction
Company,, referring to the proposed subdivision name submitted by the
developer and request-ing that the original name, "Millsdale Industrial
Park" , be ' re ta:.ned. was read.
In revie in.J the map, 'Commissioners stated their disapproval of the
proposed lay -out, raf errin..g particularly to the t-0 stub- t,: eetn which
dead ands in o the two lots at: the south-westerly and of the subdivision.
The Planning; Consultant pointed out that the above -mentioned two lots,
90J.- 5 and ado. 6), represented approximately 2 acres of land and, as a
result of the proposed -,dub-street" pattern, epich of the two lots would
not have any more than a 26 foot street frontage.
Continuing, Mr. Mann suggested that rather than permit the street to dead
end, as indioated on the snap, an additional amount of pavement be extended
Into the property, thereby furnishing sufficient street frontage to the
two lots o
A lengthy discussion was held in which members reviewed with Mr. Dovey
and kir. Ian Iandt the possibilities of improving the street design, either
by construction of a "turn -around" area or extension of the paved section.
The matter was thereafter scheduled for Formal consideration at the regular
meeting January 27, 1958, at whioh time a revised njap, altering the street
arrangement, was to be submitted.
4. VARiA3CE - Peninsula Hospital District.
An application was submitted by the Peninsula Hospital District request -
tag permission to construct an addition to the Peninsula Hospital lo-
cated at 1783 El Camino Real, Burlingame.
Richard W. Blaisdell, Administrator, Peninsula Hospital, was in attendance
and advised Commisslon.3rs that the addition will be a four-storay struc-
ture to accommodate approximately 200 beds.
Members discussed the application briefly with Mr. Blaisdell and
scheduled same for formal consideration at the January 27 meeting.
5. 5PECZA__LP&RFjIT_ - Purity _ Stores,__ Ltd,
An application submitted by Purity Stores, Ltd., 1643 Rollins Road,
Burling,anea requested permission to conduct a truck servicing and repair
activity in conjunction with an existing warehouse operation at the above
address.
Mr. R. B. Kavinoky, Manager of Construction for Purity Stores, in atten-
dance, submitted photographs and other pertinent papers and discussed the
proposal with Commissioners.
In reply to questioning, Mr. Kavinoky stated that there will be servic-
ing of the trucks during the day and into the night hours but the
operation will be limited to Purity Stores equipment.
hr. Kavinoky advised that while the application has been submitted by
Purity Stores, Ltd., as owners of the land, the actual service In-
stallations and labor will be undertaken by Bay Lease, Inc.
.after some nurther discussion, the application was scheduled for hearing
January 27, 19580
6, VARIAACE Prin le Construction CompaEy.
An application was submitted by Pringle Construction Company,
308 Sl Camiao Heal, Burlin6ame, requesting permission to substitute
parking spaces for carports in the rear pool -garden area of an apartment
building located at 17?5 Marco Polo Way, Burlingame.
A letter dated January 6, 1958, from the applicant, advised that plans
were under consideration to construct an additional 10 units to the
above mentioned building;, making a total of 42 units and that parkin;
spaces rather than carports would conform more readily with the general
architectural features of the development
Mr. Pringle, appearing in his behalf, advised of a need for more dwelling
units and stated that there is ample 'land to add the proposed units.
However, the erection of additional carports would. interfere with the
concentration of sunlight on the sWmming pool.
Mr. Pringle stated further that in lieu. of 9 carports, he proposes to
provide 16 car spaces so that for a total of 42 apartment units, there
would be 33 carports and 16 parking spaces.
Following a general discussion, the application was scheduled for formal
hearing January 27, i958-

14 Chamber_ of Commerce re: Private parking lots
A communication received from the Chamber of Commerce advised of a pro-
f
ram to develop private off-street parking lots for the convenience of
local merchants and their employees,
Commissioners indicated their willingness to cooperate when applications
for any such parking lots might be submitted for hearing.
2. County Planning Commission we: County Master Plan.
A letter dated January 3, 1958, from the San Mateo County Planning Com-
mission advising of a study meeting on the proposed -,Policy Statement for
the San Flateo, County Master Plan to be held January 17, 1958, at the
Court House, Redwood City, was read and accepted for filingo

3. Jean hiller requestinK permission to operate dog grooming service.
A letter dated December 27, 1957, was read from Jean hiller requesting
permission to groom and dash dogs on the premises located at
1136 Chula 'vista Avenue, Burlingame, The letter advised that the dogs
will not remain on the premises overnight nor left unattended and that
there is no Intention to do any more than the services specifically
mentioned.
There being no action required by the Cor: mAssion the letter was ordered
filed.

The matter of the proposed revisions to Section 1926 of the zoning
ordinance - amending the regulations for R-1 Districts - was scheduled
for further study on February 10, 1958
