WHEREAS, on February 18, 1947, the City Council of the City
of Burlingame adopted Resolution No• 4-47, authorizing and direct-
ing that application be made to the Director of Finance of the
State of California, requesting an allotment of Twenty -Five Hundrec
(42,500*00) Dollars for defraying one-half of the cost of preparinE
plans for the extension of the Sewage Disposal Plant in said City;
and
WH�MAS, the requested amount was based on an estimated cost
of Eighty -Five Thousand ('pB5,000.00) Dollars, and being six per.ceni
(6%) thereof, all of which was agreed to be paid to the consulting
engineer on the improvement; and
WHEREAS, the said agreement also provided that the consulting
engineer should be paid at the rate of six per cent (6%) on the
amount bid by the successful contractor, which finally proved to
be $119,911.00, and which now makes it necessary to increase the
fee of the consulting engineer to the sum of $7,434.66, or
$2,434.66 more than has heretofore been paid; such amount of
$7,434.66 being 60 of $119,911.00, plus $240.00, this latter
amount being expended by the consulting engineer for printing of
plans and specifications; and
WHEREAS, it now becomes necessary to make application to the
State Director of Finance for an additional allotment in the amoun
of $1,917.33 to be matched by a similar amount to be paid by said
City:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, and it is hereby ordered that
G. J. Marr, the City Engineer, make application to the Director of
Finance, requesting an additional allotment of $1,217.33, being
one-half of the additional amount due the consulting engineer for
fall services rendered by him in construction and completion of the
Sewage Disposal Plant Expansion;

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the said City Engineer have and
he is hereby granted all the authority given to the former City
Engineer as set forth in Resolution #4-47, adopted by the City
Council of the City of Burlingame February 18, 1947.

Gentlemen: Re: Chanter 47, Sewage Disposal Plant Expansion
Submitted herewith is an amended application to the State Department
of Finance for funds upended for the preparation of plans on the
above mentioned project,
It is necessary that your Honorable Body adopt a resolution author-
izing the submission of this amended application,
The original application was submitted and authorized by resolution
#4-47 on February 18, 19479 This application was for a set reimburse.
ment amount of *2,500.00 and was based on an estimated project cost
at that time of 85,000.00. The basis for this plan expenditure was
an agreement with Mr, Jenks, consulting engineer, for a fee amount-
ing to 6% of the cost estimate, Subsequent to this original cost
estimate, a contract was let in the amount of §119,911. Therefore,
it was necessary to revise Air* Jenk's fee to 6% of this contract
cost, and it is also necessary to submit to the state this amended
application for the additional reimbursement.
