HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 043A-1951`.. 14W 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 1.1 14 15 16 17 18 lO 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 A RESOLUTION NO. 43-51 URGING CONSIDERATION OF THE CITI OF BURLi%1GAILE TO ESTABLISH A FEDERAL BUILDING TO HOUSE FEDERAL OFFICES FOR THE NEW CONGRESSIONAL DISTRICT The Council of the City- of Burlingarw DO RESOLVE as follows: WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Burlir_garre has within its City limits desirable property owned by the United States Government, adjacent to the present Post Office Building and 4MREAS, the said City Council feels that the time has come in the (interest of good government and econorW and public welfare that the Federal agencies consolidate their offices under one building and WHEREAS the City Council is confident that the monies now being paid in rent Tgo- ld amply amortize the investment of the United States in a reason- able time and WEiEREAS the City Council appreciated the cooperation of the Director of Real Property, Acquisition and Utilization Division, who has stated in a letter to the Burlingamre Chamber of Comn)erce that he shall be pleased to make a study of the Federal Building situation in 71;1Lzrlingam in order that consider- ation may be given to a ;project for that commanitT,- in the formulation of future public building programs NOW THEREFCFE BE IT RESOLVED Vila .t the City Council of the City of JBurlingame hereby urges the legislature of the United States to enact the nec- essary lava and earmark the necessary funds for this purpose. EE IT FURTF-I@;R RESOLVED that copies of the Resolution be forwarded to the Honorable Richard Nixon, United States Senator, the Honorable William F. Knourland, United States Senator, the Honorable Jack Z.
