RESOLUTION NO. 50-51
RESOLT]TION OF INTENTION TO IMPROVE CERTAIN STREETS
AND SEWERS WITHIN THE SUBDIVISION KNOWN AS BURL-
INGAME MANOR WITHIN THE CITY OF BURLINGAME, AND
PARTICULARLY LA MESA DRIVE, ALTURAS DRIVE AND
MARGARITA AVENUE.
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame,
California, that in its opinion the public convenience and neces-
sity require, and it is the intention of said City Council to
order the following work to be done, and improvements to be made
in said City, to wit:
1. To construct and repair La Mesa Drive, Alturas Drive,
Margarita Avenue, within the subdivision known as Burlingame Manor,
by excavating, grading, constructing, paving and repairing all
parts and portions of said streets necessary to put them in good
condition; also by installing proper drains, replacing pavement
basest curbs and gutters, surface drainage structures, catch bass s,
and to construct and repair the sewer pipes, basins and manholes,

and all other repairs necessary for the improvement of said streets

and sewers in the aforesaid subdivision.
2. All of said work and improvements are to be constructed
at the places and in the particular locations, of the forms, sizes
and dimensions and materials, and to the lines and grades, and at
the elevations, as shown and delineated upon the plans and speci-
fications made therefor, and approved by the City Council of the
City of Burlingame, at a meeting held on the 29th day of August,
1951, and now on file in the office of the City Clerk of said
City, reference to which is hereby made for a full and detailed
description of said proposed work, and for further particulars.
3. The City Council does hereby adopt and establish as the
official grades for said work, the grades and elevation shown
upon said plans, profiles and specifications.
4. All of said work and improvements shall be done under
supervision of the City Engineer of the City of Burlingame, and
all of said work and materials shall be done and furnished to his
satisfaction.

5. Notice is hereby given that pursuant to the improvement
Act of 1911, the City Engineer of the City of Burlingame has filet
with the City Clerk of said City, accompanying the plans and spec•
ifications above referred to, an itemized statement of the esti-
mated cost of said work and improvements, and of the expenses in-
cidental thereto, all of which are open to public inspection.
6. Said contemplated work and improvements are of more than
local ordinary public benefit, and the cost thereof will be assess
upon the district benefitted thereby, and said district shall con-
sist of the composite and consolidated areas, the exterior bound-
aries of which are shown upon the map of Burlingame Manor Subdivi-
sion on file in the office of the City Clerk of said City.
7. The said City Council hereby further declares that all
of the streets, avenues, lanes, alleys, courts, places and public
ways, rights of way, easements, and other public property containe
within the above described district, the same being used in the
performance of a public function as such, shall be omitted from
the said district, and from the levy and collection of the special
taxes to be hereafter collected to cover the costs and expenses of
said improvement.
8. Notice is hereby given that bonds to raise unpaid assess-
ments of $25.00 or over, and bear interest at the rate of not to
exceed six per cent (6%) per annum shall be issued pursuant to the
Improvement Bond Act of 1915, the last installment of which shall
mature ten (10) years from the 2nd day of July next succeeding
ter_ (10) months following their date.
9. Except as herein otherwise provided for the issuance of
bonds, all of said work and improvements, and the proceedings
therefor shall. be pursuant to the Improvement Act of 1911,
10. Notice is hereby given that Monday, the 17th day of
September, 1951, at the hour of 8:00 ofelock P.M.,at the Council
chambers of the said City Council, in the City Hall of said City
of Burlingame, is hereby fixed as the time and place when and
where any and all persons having any objections to the proposed
improvements, or against the district to be assessed for the costs

and expenses thereof, or said plans, specifications, profiles,
engineering estimate, or the grades at which said work is to be
done, may appear before said Council and show cause why said
improvements should not be carried out in accordance with this
Resolution of Intention.
11, The City Clerk of said City shall cause this resolution
of Intention to be published twice in the Burlingame Advance, a
daily newspaper published and circulated in said City of Burl
which said paper is hereby designated for that purpose, and which
is hereby designated as the newspaper in which all further notices
required to be made herein shall be published*
12. The City Clerk shall, give notice by mail of the adoption
of this Resolution of Intention as required by law*
13. The Superintendent of Streets of said City shall cause
to be conspicuously posted along the line of said contemplated
work and improvement, notices of passage of this Resolution of
Intention in the time, form and manner required by law,
Mayor .

foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a special
meeting of the City Council, held on the 29th day of August, 1951,
by the following vote:
