TO MAKE ENGINEERING REPORT OF CITY SEWERS; RECONMENDING SYSTEM OF IMPROVEMENTS jITHIN THE CITY OF BURLINGAME WHEREAS, the City Council accepted the offer of Harry N. Jenks, C. E. to make an engineering investigation of the system of s ewers in the City of Burlingame and thereafter to report his findings and make recommendations for improvements therein and design a construction program for the future; and WHEREAS, the offer of said narry N. Jenks, C. E. dated May 14, 1952, attached hereto and made a part of this resolution, sets forth the extent of the proposed investigation, the report and manner of making compensation to him; N0W, 1IIPLFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED and ordered, that the attached offer of Harry if. Jenks, C. S . be and the same is hereby accepted in all its terms and provisions, and he is hereby engaged to make the investigation and report specified in said offer and he is hereby authorized and directed to proceed forth- with; that his compensation be made in said offer provided. S In conformity with our recent discussions and my understand- ing of your wishes in the matter, I offer to serve the City of Bur- lingame as Consulting Sanitary Engineer on the following work to be done: (1) In collaboration with yourself and utilizing the existing records of the City's sewer system which you have prepared, I will make such necessary field surveys and office studies as may be required to determine the adequacy of the city's sewer lines to handle ultimate flows within the areas to be served. (2) This investigation will be particularly directed to the condition and future enlargements of the system in the northerly portion of the City and along the Bayshore Highway in the vicinity of the municipal sewage treatment plant. Also, the need for additional sewers and relief sewers will be studied in relation to the possible annexation of the Mills Estate area to the City of Burlingame. (3) I will prepare a general map to serve as a master plan for the progressive construction of relief sewers and intercepting sewer extensions. The map will show the recommended locations, materials, sizes and elevations of the sewer lines to be built. (4) In a written report to the City Engineer I will summarize the results of the investigation, together with general recommendations as to the programming of the future sewer line construction work, and probable cost of the major construction items. Upon being duly authorized by the City Council, I will do the foregoing work for an engineering fee not to exceed Fifteen Hundred Dollars $1,500.00), payable in two monthly payments of $500.00 each, balance upon completion of the work. 5� HNJ:E Sincerely yours, &MttN,Mm&__ Consulting San terry Engineer
