In conformity with our recent discussions and my understand-
ing of your wishes in the matter, I offer to serve the City of Bur-
lingame as Consulting Sanitary Engineer on the following work to be
done:
(1) In collaboration with yourself and utilizing the
existing records of the City's sewer system which you have prepared,
I will make such necessary field surveys and office studies as may
be required to determine the adequacy of the city's sewer lines
to handle ultimate flows within the areas to be served.
(2) This investigation will be particularly directed to the
condition and future enlargements of the system in the northerly portion
of the City and along the Bayshore Highway in the vicinity of the
municipal sewage treatment plant.
Also, the need for additional sewers and relief sewers will
be studied in relation to the possible annexation of the Mills Estate
area to the City of Burlingame.
(3) I will prepare a general map to serve as a master plan
for the progressive construction of relief sewers and intercepting
sewer extensions.
The map will show the recommended locations, materials, sizes
and elevations of the sewer lines to be built.
(4) In a written report to the City Engineer I will summarize
the results of the investigation, together with general recommendations
as to the programming of the future sewer line construction work, and
probable cost of the major construction items.
Upon being duly authorized by the City Council, I will do the
foregoing work for an engineering fee not to exceed Fifteen Hundred
Dollars $1,500.00), payable in two monthly payments of $500.00 each,
balance upon completion of the work.
