A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE DESIGNATION
OF THURSDAY, JULY 10, 1952, AS
"U.S.O. DAY IN BURLIN aME.°
WHEREAS, due to the prolongation of the Korean Pear, the
Department of Defense has given top priority to the Overseas Showsll
sponsored by the United Service Organization.- (Tr t_n ), any
WHEREAS, the United Service Organizations (U.S.O.)
report that their operations in behalf of the Armed Services, both
in camps at home and overseas, are handicapped by insufficient
funds, and
WHEREAS, more than 1,500 San Mateo County men are now
wearing the uniform of the U. S. Armed Services at home and over-
seas, and
WHEREAS, no fluid -raising activities in behalf of the
U.S.C. have been undertaken in L-he City of Burlingame for the past
two or three years,
NOW, THERE70HE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the
City of Burlingame endorses the one -day public canvass of funds
for U.S.O. on Thursday, July 10, 1952, and urges all citizens of
this City to contribute generously as a tribute to our men who are
serving their Country in the distant quarters of t world.

foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted at a reg-
ular meeting of the City Council held on the 7th day of July, 1952,
