SUPERSEDING RESOLUTION NO. 2-53
WHEREAS, on January 5, 1953, the City Council of the City
of Burlingame adopted Resolution No. 2-53, requesting an allot-
ment from the Director of Finance of the State of California in
the sum of w4,675.00 being not more than one-half of the cost of
preparing engineering field services, engineering or architect-
ural designs and detailed drawings and specifications; and
WHEREAS, the Department of Finance of the State of
California has requested a change in the amount of the allotment
to be reduced to w4,656.37.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the
City of Burlingame that Resolution No. 2-53 adopted by this
Council on January 5, 1953 be and the same is hereby superseded
and amended by this resolution so as to read as follows:
1 - WHEREAS, the State of California under Chapter 47,
Statutes of 1944, (4th Extra Session) has appropriated funds for
allotment by the Director of Finance to provide financial
assistance to Local Agencies defined therein as counties, cities
or cities and counties fo- the purpose of defraying not to exceed
one-half of the cost of preparing, engineering field surveys,
engineering or architectural designs, and working and detailed
drawings and specifications (hereinafter called "plans") required
for postwar public works projects described as "specified
projects" in said Act; and
- WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame, hereinafter designated as
"local agency" desires to apply to the Lirector of Finance for
an allotment of the State's share of the estimated cost of pre-
paring the completed plans hereinafter mentioned and there has
been prepared and presented to this Legislative Body for
consideration an application for such purpose; and
3. WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame has provided, or will make
available upon approval of the aforementioned application,
sufficient funds to prepare the completed plans herein mentioned;
4. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City of
Burlingame submit the aforesaid application to the Director of
Finance requesting allotment of w4,656.37 being not more than
one-half the cost of preparing said completed plans, or for such
amount as may be approved by the Director of Finance, (said
allotment to be used for the purpose of defraying the cost of
prrpparing said completed plans required) for a specific project
to be undertaken by the City of Burlingame and described as
Sanitary Sewerage System Improvements.
5. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the estimated cost of prepar-
ing such plans is $9,312.75 and that Local Agency has made pro-
vision for paying one-half or more of the cost of prepa-ing such
plans;
6. BE IT FU�?THER RESOLVED, that for the purposes of this
application, G. J. Marr, City Engineer, 260 Primrose Road,
Burlingame, California be and he hereby is designated as the
authorized agent of the City of Burlingame ancAs hereby authoriz
and directed to sign the abovementioned application on behalf of
the City of Burlingame and submit the same to the Director of
Finance with a certified statement of the estimated cost of pre-
paring such plans and such other information as may be required;
and said authorized agent is further authorized and directed as
the representative of the City of Burlingame to conduct all
negotiations and conclude all arrangements, including submission
to the Director of Finance of applications for reimbursement,
which may be necessary to secure reimbursement for the State's
share of the expenditures made in preparing said completed plans.
