HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 019-1953RESOLUTION NO. 19-53 COMMENDING JUDGE J. A. BRANSON FOR HIS SERVICES TO THE CITY OF BURLINGAME WHEREAS, by act of the California Legislature and by vote of the People of the State, the entire system of courts inferior to the Superior Court of the State of California has been reorganized; and WHEREAS, in consequence of such reorganization, the City Court of the City of Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California, together with all other city and similar courts throughout the State, has been abolished; and WHEREAS, Judge J. A. Branson served continuously as Judge of the City Court of the City of Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California, from the date of his appointment as such Judge in 1947 until said Court ceased to exist in 1953; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Burlingame commends Judge J. A. Branson for the services performed by him to the City of Burlingame in the capacity of Judge, sensing that it bespeaks the sentiment of the whole community in recalling that his every official act during his six years in office demonstrated those qualities of judicial temperament which are essential to mortals who must judge amongst mortals. He was fair, impartial, decorous, considerate, deliberate, stern when occasion required, discerning, wise and learned. The Council regrets his -etirement from the City's official family and consoles itself only with the thought that he continues to be an alert, informed and public-spirited citizen of the City of Burlingame. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that a copy of this Resolution be presented to Judge Branson. Andrew C. Byrd a Mayor I, HERBERT K.
