HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 094-1953RESOLUTION NO. 94-53 DIRECTING THE GIVING OF NOTICE OF PROPOSED ANNEXATION TO THE CITY OF - - BURLINGU,IE OF CERTAIN UNINHABITED TERRITORY, BEING A PART OF THE MILIS ESTATE AND FIXING THE TIME AND PLACE FOR THE HEARING THEREOF. WHEREAS, Atlantic Life Insurance Company, a Corporation, has filed a petition with the City Council requesting the annexation to the City of Burlingame of certain new uninhabited territory, the boundaries of which are in said petition and hereinafter described; and which territory is contiguous to the northern corporate limits of the City and being a part of what is commonly described "The Mills Estates', situated in the County of San Mateo State of California; and, WHEREAS, prior to the filing of the petition for annexation, the petitioner submitted to and obtained from the Boundary Com- mission of San I,Iateo County, its approval of the description of the property to be annexed, a copy of which approval is attached to the petition, reference thereto is hereby had for further particulars; and WH.TZEAS, the petitioner claims to be the sole owner of all of the land to be annexed; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED AND ORDERED, that Monday, the 25th day of January, 1954, at the hour of 8:00 oscloc: P. M. in the Council Chambers of the City Hall, in the City of Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California, is fixed as the time and place for the hearing of the petition for annexation at which time any person interested may appear and be heard. The land and territory therein referred to consists of that certain real property in the County of San Mateo, State of Calif- ornia, and particularly described as follows: .. to . - .. �� . • •� '�' t�dji'..., 4 dtt; MCF7 »r•' All that certain real property situate in the County of San Mateo, State of California, more particularly described as follows: Beginning at a point on the corporate limits line of the City of 13%zlingame, said point being located on the northwesterly boundary of the lands conveyed by the Mills Estate Incorporated to Thomas J. Culligan, Jr,, and wife by deed recorded November 13, 1940, in Book 924 of Official Records of San Mateo County, California, at page 296 (4767-E), and said point of beginning being located along said northwesterly boundary of the lands so con- veyed S 33044'40" W 100.18 feet from +lie most northerly corner thereof; thence from said point of beginning and along said corporate limits line of the City of Burlingae N 59'42110" W 206.73 feet, thence id 62*16'37" W 356.10 feet, thence continuing tangent to the preceding course on t:.e arc of a curve to the right, having a radius of 3013.59 feet and a central n.:,.Ile of 23°l6'13", an arc dis- tance of 1223.95 feet, thence continuing tangent to the preceding curve N 390 oo'24" W 89.44 feet; thence N 44041,24" W 41.16 feet; thence leaving said corporate limits line of the City of Burlingame S 47016'42" W 843-20 feet; thence tangent to the preceding col4rse on the are of a curve to the left, having a radius of 890 feet and a central angle of 22047'00", an arc distance of 353.90 feet; thence tangent to tln preceding curve S 24°29'42" W 425.00 feet; thence tangent to the preceding car se on the arc of a curve to the right, having a radius of 610 feet and a central angle of 25°00', an arc distance of 266.16 feet; thence tangent to the precedin3 curve S 49029,42" W 461.09 feet; thence S 47031'48" E 885.39 feet; thence S 40'46127" W 193.41 feet; thence S 20*57, 20" W 988.89 feet; thence N 47*02,40" W 572.26 feet; thence S 45045' W 1900.00 feet; thence S 72015100" W 1100.00 feet; thence S 49045'00" W 1500.00 feet to a point on the corporate limits line of the City of Burlingame; thence along said line and along a line parallel to and distant 100 feet northeasterly meas- ured at right angles from the northeasterly line of the State Highway known as Skyline Boulevard S 40015' E 1750.00 feet, thence continuing tangent to the preceding course on the arc of a curve to the right, having a radius of 1140 feet and a central angle of 12031'00", an arc distance of 249.04 feet, thence continuing tangent to the preceding curve S 27044, E 643.44 feet to the north- westerly boundary of the subdivision as shown on that certain map entitled "BURLINGAME MANOR MAP N0, 1 BURLINGAME, CALIFORNIA", which map was recorded September 12, 1946, in Volume 26 of Maps at pages 15 and 16, Records of San Mateo County, California; thence in a general northeasterly direction along the existing corporate limits line of the City of Burlingame to the most southerly corner of the lands described in Ordinance No. 504 of the City of Burlingame annexing to the City of Burlingame a certain uninhabited and unincorporated area known as "Peninsula Hospital District" property, which ordinance was adopted by the City Council of said City of Burlingame at its regular meeting on February 5, 1951; thence along the boundary of the lands of the Peninsula Hospital District northwesterly, northeasterly and southeasterly to the most easterly corner thereof; thence in a;general northeasterly direction along the existing corp- orate limits line of the City of Burlingame to the point of beginning, IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that a copy of this resolution should be published in the Burlingame Advance -Star, a newspaper of general circulation, published in the City of Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California, on the 26th day of December, 1953 and on the 2nd day of January, 1954, being once a week for two successive weeks, and twenty days prior to the time for the hearing of said petition. IT IS FURTHER ORDERED, that a copy of this resolution should be published in the Redwood City Tribune, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the County of San Mateo, but not in the City of Burlingame, on the 26th day of December, 1953, and on the 2nd day of January, 1954, being once a week for two successive weeks, and twenty days prior to the time for tearing of said petition.
