HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 044-1954RESOLUTION NO. 44-54 RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame that the attached Agreement for publishing all legal notices for the year beginning July 1, 1954 and ending June 30, 1955, shall be entered into with the Peninsula Newspapers Incorporated, a corporation. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Mayor be, and he is hereby authorized to execute said agreement for and in behalf of the City and that the City Clerk attest the same. H. WHITE CITY CLERK A G R E E M E N T THIS AGREEMENT made on this 19th day of July, 1954, by and between the City of Burlingame, a :municipal corporation, hereinafter called the city, the party of the first part, and the Peninsula Newspapers Incorporated, a corporation, owner of the Burlingame Advance, a newspaper of general circulation, printed and published in the City of Burlingame, State of California, hereinafter called the publisher, the party of the second part. W I T N E S S E T H WHEREAS, the City published a notice inviting bids from all newspapers of general circulation printed and published in the city to contract for the publication of all legal notices for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1954 and ending June 30th, 1955; and WHEREAS, the publisher submitted its bid in writing, setting forth therein the cost and rate per square, which the City Council deemed to be a fair and adequate price for the cost of publication of all legal notices; NOW, THEREFORE, in consideration of the premises of the requirements of law and the covenants and agreements herein contained to be kept and performed, the parties hereto agree as f oll ows : 1. That all legal notices for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 1954 and ending June 30, 1955, shall be published in the Burlingame Advance, printed and published in the City of Burlin- game and owned and controlled by the party of the second part. 2. The cost for the publication herein provided shall be $1.50 per square for the first insertion and $0.90 per square for subsequent publications of the same notice* „The square as herein used shall be defined as 119 lines of 6 point Iltype” and all notices herein provided to be published shall be in 6 point type unless otherwise ordered.
