HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 025-1963RESOLUTION NO. 25 - 63 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING TIME AND PLACE OF HEAPING OF ORDINANCE NO. 780 ADOPTING BY REFERENCE VOLUMES I AND III OF THE UNIFORM BUILDING CODE, 1961 EDITION, AND FARMER'S BULLETIN NO. 1638 OF THE UNITED STATES DEPARTMENT OF AGRICULTURE -RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame, California, that WHEREAS, the title of Ordinance No. 780 adopting by reference Volumes I and III of the Uniform Building Code, 1961 Edition, copyrighted in 1961 by the International Conference of Building Officials, and also adopting by reference Farmer's Bulletin No. 1638 of the United States Department of Agriculture, has been read for first reading this 8th day of March, 1963; and WHEREAS, a notice of time and place of public hearing upon said ordinance, a copy of which, marked Exhibit A, is attache) hereto, incorporated herein and made a part of this resolution by reference; and WHEREAS, said notice of time and place of public hear- ing conforms in all respects to the provisions of Section 50022.3 of the California Government Code; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED AS FOLLOWS: 1. That Monday, the 1st day of April, 1963, at the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M. in the Council Chambers, City Hall, Burlingame, California, is hereby fixed as the time and place when the Council will hold a public hearing upon the adoption of said ordinance. 2. That notice of said hearing shall be given by - 1 - publication of a copy of the said Exhibit A once a week for two successive weeks in the Burlingame Advance -Star, a newspaper of general circulation published in the City of Burlingame. 3. That not less than three copies of said Uniform Building Code, 1961 Edition, Volumes I and III, and of any second- ary code pertaining thereto, all certified to be true copies by the City Clerk, shall be filed in the office of the City Clerk at least 15 days preceding said public hearing, and shall be kept there for public inspection while said Ordinance No. 780 is in force, except as otherwise provided by Section 50022.9 of the California Government Code. 4. That the Council finds that said Exhibit A contains a description sufficient to give notice to interested persons of the purpose of the ordinance and the subject matter thereof. 7011 I, Herbert K. White, City Clerk - 2 - EXHIBIT A NOTICE OF HEARING ON PROPOSED ORDINANCE NO. 780 AMENDING .ARTICLE 55 OF T11E CITY OF BUI?LINGAME O,DINANCE CODS:, ADOPTING BY 'EFERENCE VOLUMES I AND III OF THE UNIFOPM BUILDING CODE, 1961 EDITION, .AND ESTABLISHING RULES, REGULATIONS AND STANDARDS FOR BUILDING CONSTRUCTION AND THE MOVING OF BUILDINGS AND PROVIDING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLATION THEREOF NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on Monday, the 1st clay of April, 1963, at the hour of 8;00 o'clock P.M., in the Council Chambers of the City Hall at 267 Park ?toad, Burlingame, Californi a hearing will be held on the proposed Ordinance No. 780 refer- red to in the title to this notice, providing that the rules, regulations and standards printed and published by the Interna- tional Conference of Building Officials in two volumes, being Volumes I and III, under the title Uniform Building Code, 1961 Edition, be adopted as and for the pules, regulations, and standards within the City of Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California, as to all matters therein contained except as otherwise provided in said Ordinance 780, and that said volumes of said Uniform Building Code shall become a part of the Ordinance Code of the City of Burlingame. Said Uniform Building Code, 1961 Edition, Volumes I and III provide rules, regulations and standards for their ad- ministration, application, and enforcement, for the issuance of permits and certificate of occupancy, for inspect ons, Zee-?=- tions and abbreviations, for requirements based on occupancy and the classification of all buildings by use or occupancy, for - I - requirements based on location in fire zones, for requirements based on types of construction and the classification of all buildings by types of construction, for engineering regulations (including the quality and design of the materials of construc- tion, for detailed regulations of excavations, foundations and retaining; walls, veneered walls, enclosure of vertical openings, floor construction, roof construction and covering, stairs, exits, occupant loads, skylights, bays, porches, balconies, pent- houses and roof structures, chimneys, flues, vents and fire- places, fire -extinguishing systems, stages and platforms, motion picture projection rooms, proscenium curtains, for fire -resistive standards for fire protection, for regulation of public streets and projections over public property, for plaster and wallboard, and for special subjects including film storage, mechanical refrigeration, prefabricated construction, heat -producing ap- pliances, plastics, and sheet metal paint spray booths. Three copies of said Uniform Building Code, 1961 Edi- tion, Volumes I and III and of Farmer's Bulletin No. 1638 of the United States Department of Agriculture are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Burlingame and are open to public inspection.
