HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 005-1963RESOLUTION NO. 5-63 MEMORIALIZING THE VISIT OF CHARLES I. BLOOD TO THE CITY OF BURLINGAME WHEREAS, CHARLES I. BLOOD, a resident of Kansas City and nonagenarian grandfather of Councilman R. David Martin is presently visiting the City of Burlingame; and WHEREAS, this Council has been informed that despite his advanced years he continues to be actively engaged in his occupation of newspaperman in the employ of the Kansas City Star; and WHEREAS, the said CHARLES I. BLOOD did attend upon this Council at its regular meeting held on this 7th day of January, 1963, as a guest, and having been introduced to the Council and having been extended the courtesy of the floor, did address a few remarks to this Council; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame that it does hereby congratulate the said CHARLES I. BLOOD for continuing to be actively employed at his advanced age; RESOLVED, FURTHER, that this Council is cognizant of and acknowledges the compliment to it which is inherent in his attendance upon it, at this meeting, of the said CHARLES I. BLOOD; RESOLVED, FURTHER, that this Council is appreciative of the compliment thus bestowed upon it and of the gracious remarks addressed to it by its guest; and RESOLVED, FURTHER, that the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, directed to deliver to the said CHARLES I. BLOOD a certified copy of this resolution and also a copy of the minutes of said meeting, that they may be retained by him as a respectful souvenir of his visit to this City.
