HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 026-1962WHJ&M:EAW:et 5-14-62 RESOLUTION NO. 26-62 A RESOLUTION APPOINTING ENGINEER AND ATTORNEYS BURLINGAME AVENUE AREA OFFSTREET PARKING DISTRICT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame, California, that WHEREAS, this Council has determined to undertake proceed- ings pursuant to appropriate assessment and assessment bond acts for the acquisition and construction of public improvements in said City to be known as Burlingame Avenue Area Offstreet Parking District; and WHEREAS, the public interest and general welfare will be served by appointing and employing engineers and attorneys for the preparation and conduct of said proceedings and work in connection with said improvements; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED, as follows: 1. The engineering firm of Wilsey, Ham & Blair, 111 Rollins Road, Millbrae, California, be, and it is hereby, appointed as Engineer of Work and employed to do and perform all engineering work necessary in and for said proceedings, including all prelimi- nary surveying, preparation of report, plans, profiles, specifica- tions, estimate of costs, diagram, assessment, setting grade stakes and supervision of work; that its compensation be, and it is hereby, fixed at the amounts therefor set forth in the letter from said firm, dated March 20, 1962, a copy of which is hereto attached and by reference hereto made a part hereof, and to be assessed as an incidental expense of said proceedings. 2. The City Engineer is hereby directed to examine and approve the engineering documents, and the right to provide in- spection of the construction of said improvements and to accept said work when done to his satisfaction. The cost of said in- spection shall be assessed as an incidental expense of said pro- ceedings. 3. The law firm of Wilson, Harzfeld, Jones & Morton, formerly Kirkbride, Wilson, Harzfeld & Wallace, San Mateo, California, are hereby appointed and employed to do and perform all legal services required in the conduct of said proceedings, including the preparation of all papers not required to be pre- pared by the Engineer, examining and approving the engineering documents and advising the Engineer in the preparation of his work, advising all City officials on all matters relating thereto when called upon, and furnishing their legal opinion on the validity of said proceedings and bonds, and their compensation therefor shall be as provided in their contract therefor dated August 14, 1959, to be assessed as an incidental expense of said pro- ceedings. -2- I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Burlingame, California, at a meeting thereof held on the loth day of May _, 19 62, by the following vote: AYES, and in favor thereof, Councilmen: Crosby -Johnson -Lorenz -Martin -Morgan NOES, Councilmen: None ABSENT, Councilmen: None City Clerk of the City of Burlingame APPROVED: Mayor
