HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 013-196240-� I*ft RESOLUTION NO. 13 - 62 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME COMMENDING THE GOLDEN GATE CHAPTER, SAN MATEO REGION, AND BAY AREA RED CROSS COUNCIL, FOR PRESENTING THE FIRST CERTIFICATED STANDARD FIRST AID COURSE ON TELEVISION WHEREAS, the Golden Gate Chapter, San Mateo Region, of the American National Red Cross, is aiding the Bay Area Red Cross Council presentation of the First Certificated Standard First Aid Course on television over KQED, Channel 9, in March of 1962, and WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Burlingame desires to commend them for this and past efforts, NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame that said Council does commend the Bay .Area Red Cross Council and the Golden Gate Chapter, San Mateo Region, of the American National Red Cross, for presenting the First Certificated Standard First Aid Course on television. ic i1i. -NI- -:111r J11C I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was regularly introduced and adopted by the City Council of the City of Burlingame at a regular meeting held this 5th day of March, 1962, by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Byrd, Johnson, Lorenz, Martin, NOES: COUNCILT�EN: None ABSENT COUNCILMEN: None ATTEST: Herbert K. Broadcast times will be Tuesdays - Starting March 69 4 p.m., for twelve weeks Thursdays - Starting March 8 - 7:30 p.m., for twGIve weeks. The two broadcasts of each lesson during the week will enable students working for the Standard First Aid cer- tificate to review material or fill in lessons missed. In order to become certificated students should register with their nearest Red Cross chapter. Fee is $1.00, which includes the First Aid textbook and a workbook. Stu- dents wishing certification and already having a Standard First Aid textbook may order only the workbook. The work- book must be completed by each student. First Aid skills workshops will be given in specified areas in the county following completion of the T.V. course. Those eligible to take the course for certification must be at least 15 years old or be in the loth grade. Regis- tration will begin February 19 through local Red Cross chapters. Further information may be secured through the Safety Services of Golden Gate Chapter, PR 6-1500, San Mateo Region, DI 3-4561, Sequoia Region, EM 6 3851, or any other local Red Cross chapter. x.K.
