WHEREAS, the Planning Commission of San Mateo County on the 14th day of
February, 1962 did recommend to the Board of Supervisors of
San Mateo County that the County take immediate steps to acquire
a 44 acre parcel of submerged land. situated within the City of
Burlingame, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Burlingame on February 19, 1962
adopted in principle a plan for development of the City's shore-
line area, and ,
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Burlingame has instructed the
Planning Commission of Burlingame to make a study of said
plan, and
WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Burlingame has authorized an
engineering study of drainage problems in the baylands areas of
the. City. of Burlingame, and
WHEREAS, the Shoreline Study Committee appointed by the City Council of
the City of Burlingame and the Baylands Development Committee
of the Burlingame Chamber of Commerce have been studying
baylands development for more than five years, and
WHEREAS, said committees have combined as a Joint Baylands Development
Committee of Burlingame to promote proper develepment of
baylande within the City of Burlingame, now therefore
BE IT RESOLVED that the Joint Baylands Development Committee of
Burlingame does vigorously oppose acquisition by the County of
San Mateo of submerged lands within the City of Burlingame,
and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the County of San Mateo, the Cities of
Burlingame, San Mateo, Millbrae and other jurisdictions and
interests involved take immediate steps for closer coordination
of plans and actions In the development of baylands.
