RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION AND
DESIGN REVIEW
RESO-2-99
RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a categorical exemption has been proposed and application has been made for desiai
review for a two-story addition at 1008 Morrell Avenue, zoned R-1. APN: 029-024-080; George
McCracken, property owner and applicant:
WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on
December 14, 1998, at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written
materials and testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that:
1. On the basis of the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments received and
addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the project set
forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and Categorical Exemption, Class 3, Section
15303, construction and location of limited number of small facilities or structures, is hereby approved.
2. Said design review is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto. Findings for such design review are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting.
3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the official
records of the County of San Mateo.

Conditions of approval of categorical exemption and design review
1008 MORRELL AVENUE
effective JANUARY 4,1998
1. that the project shall be built as shown on the plans submitted to the Planning Department
date stamped November 30, 1998,sheets 1-4;
2, that the conditions of the Chief Building Official(August 3, 1998)memo shall be met;
3. that any changes to the size or envelope of the first or second floors,which would include
expanding the footprint or floor area of the structure,replacing or relocating a window(s),
adding a dormer(s)or changing the roof height or pitch,shall be subject to design review;
4. that prior to issuance of the building permit,the applicant shall obtain a tree removal permit
from the Parks Division prior to removing the eugenia from the front yard,or the applicant
shall provide a plan for the protection of the tree during construction. If the applicant does
not receive a removal permit or decides not to remove the tree,a protection plan shall be
submitted for review and as approval by the City's Senior Landscape Inspector prior to
issuance of the building permit. If the tree removal is approved,the applicant shall plant the
three(3)birch trees in the front yard and two(2)birch trees in the rear yard as specified on
the site plan and approved by the Senior Landscape Inspector dated November 30, 1998,
prior to completion of the building permit;
5. that the project shall meet all the requirements of the California Building and Fire Codes,
1995,as amended by the City of Burlingame.
