RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION
AND DESIGN REVIEW
RESO-20-99
RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a Categorical Exemption has been proposed and application has been made for design
review for a first and second story addition and remodel at 1405 Mills Avenue, zoned R-1; APN: 026-
075-310; Jacquelyn Foster, owner:
WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on
February 22, 1999 , at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials
and testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that:
1. On the basis of the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments received and addressed by this
commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the project set forth above will have
a significant effect on the environment, and Categorical Exemption, Article 19, Class 1(e)(1): additions to
existing structures provided that the addition will not result in an increase of more than 50% of the floor area
before the addition, or 2500 SF, whichever is less, is hereby approved.
2. Said design review application is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto. Findings for design review are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting.
3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the official records of the
County of San Mateo.

Conditions of approval for categorical exemption and design review.

EFFECTIVE MARCH 1, 1999
1. that the project shall be built as shown on the plans submitted to the Planning Department date stamped
January 14, 1999, sheets 1, 2 and 4 - 7; and Sheets 3 and G-1 submitted on February 11, 1999;
2. that all details as shown on the plans shall be included in the final construction documents and included in
construction;
3. that the applicant shall match the new windows with the existing windows and that casement windows
should be used as the primary window form throughout the structure;
4. that the applicant shall provide side yard landscaping and include cutleaf birch along the side property lines;
5. that the applicant shall construct the replacement garage and have the garage's final inspection approved
by the Building Department prior to having a final inspection of the residential structure;
6. that the applicant shall direct roof and site drainage to Mills Avenue; and
7. that the project shall meet all the requirements of the California Building and Fire Codes, 1995 edition, as
amended by the City of Burlingame.
