Date: 03 4.99 garet Monroe City(planner r RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION and SIGN EXCEPTION RESO-29-99 RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that: WHEREAS, a categorical exemption has been proposed and application has been made for a sign exception for the area of signs on the secondary frontages at 1477 Chapin Avenue. zoned C-1, Subarea B1, APN: 029-122-020; Weiman Syndicate, 2755 34th Avenue, San Francisco, CA 94116, property owner: WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on March 8, 1999, at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials and testimony presented at said hearing; NOW, THEREFORE, it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that: 1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments received and addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the project set forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and Categorical Exemption per Article 19 Section: 15311 - Accessory Structures, Class 11, construction or placement of minor structures accessory (appurtenant to) existing commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities, including but not limited to (a) on- premise signs is hereby approved. 2. Said sign exception is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached hereto. Findings for such sign exception is as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting. 3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resoluti be recordo in the official records of the County of San Mateo. /�� CHAIRMAN I, Dave Luzuriaea, Secretary of the Planning Commission !fthe City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission held on the BIL day of March, IM, by the following vote: AYES: COMMISSIONERS: COFFEY, KEIGHRAN, KEY, LUZURIAGA, VISTICA AND DEAL NOES: COMMISSIONERS: BOJUES i ABSENT: COMMISSIONERS: NONE ` SECRET EXHIBIT "A" Conditions of approval categorical exemption and sign exception 1477 CHAPIN AVENUE effective March 15, 1999 1. that the signs shall be installed as shown on the plans submitted to the Planning Department and date stamped March 2, 1999, (8.5" x 14") and February 1, 1999 (Sheets ALO and A1.3) except that the sign facing the parking lot on Burlingame Avenue shall be relocated to the upper parapet wall, shall be redesigned to fit the space on that wall and shall not exceed a maximum of 48.8 SF; 2. that any increase in the area of the signs on the primary or secondary frontages shall require an amendment to this sign exception; and 3. that the project shall meet all the requirements of the Municipal Code and of the 1995 edition California Building and Fire Codes as amended by the City of Burlingame. u e Ski Tcx i {:ry AZ 5r i
