RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION
DESIGN REVIEW FOR SECOND STORY ADDITION AND VARIANCES
RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a Categorical Exemption has been proposed and application has been made for design
review and variances from Floor Area Ratio,Declining Height Envelope and Left Side Setback. and Variance
from second covered parking space for an 80 SF second story addition, demolition of an existing detached
amort and construction of an attached one-car garage with a 0'-6" side setback, and remodel of existing roof
line from flat roof to gable roof at 1610 Chapin Avenue, zoned R-1, Rhonda Hacker. property owner,
APN: 028-282-090;
WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on_
November 8, 1999, at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials
and testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is n—L.SOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that:
1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments
received and addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the
project set forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and Categorical Exemption, per
CEQA Section 15301, is hereby approved.
2. Said design review and variances are approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit
"A" attached hereto. Findings for such variances and design review applications are as set forth in the minutes
and recording of said meeting.
3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution be recorded in the official records
of the County of San Mateo.

Conditions of approval Categorical Exemption, Design Review and Variances
1610 Chapin Avenue
effective November 15, 1999
Conditions:
1. that the project shall be built as shown on the plans submitted to the Planning Department
and date stamped October 6, 1999, Sheets 1, and 3 through 9;
2. that the left side setback variance is permitted only for construction of the garage, all other
portions of the structure shall meet the side setback requirements;
3. that any changes to the size or envelope of the first or second floor, which would include
adding or enlarging a dormer(s), moving or changing windows and architectural features
or changing the roof height or pitch, shall be subject to design review;
4. that the conditions of the Chief Building Official's September 20, 1999 memo and the City
Engineer's September 20, 1999 memo shall be met;
5. that any improvements for the use shall meet all California Building and Fire Codes, 1998
Edition as amended by the City of Burlingame.
