Date: 05.02.00 Margaret Monroe, City Planner RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION AND PARKING VARIANCE RESOLUTION-131-2000 RESOLVED,by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that: WHEREAS, a categorical exemption has been proposed and application has been made for a parking variance for addition of a storage mezzanine to an existing=liance store at 1333 Howard Avenue,zoned -1}Subarea B Michael&Athia Giotinic propwy owners APN:029-222-030; WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on April 24 2000,at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials and testimony presented at said hearing; NOW,THEREFORE,it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that: 1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed,and comments received and addressed by this commission,it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the project set forth above will have a significant effect on the environment,and categorical exemption,per CEQA Article 19,Section 15301, existing facilities, Class 1(a), interior or exterior alterations involving such things as interior partitions,plumbing,and electrical conveyances is hereby approved. 2. Said parking variance is approved,subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit"A"attached hereto. Findings for such parking variance are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting. 3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolution b recorded in the offi . records of the County of San Mateo. CHAI N I, Ann Keighran, Secretary of the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame,do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced and adopted at a regular meeting of the Planning Commission held on the 24th day of April,2000,by the following vote: AYES: COMMISSIONERS: BOJUES, KEIGHRAN, VISTICA, OSTERLING AND LUZURIAGA NOES: COMMISSIONERS: NONE ABSENT: COMMISSIONERS: DEAL AND DREILING IIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIII 2.i 5 o0sszas SECRETARY EXHIBIT "A" Conditions of approval categorical exemption and parking variance 1333 Howard Avenue effective May 1, 2000 1. that the mezzanine addition shall be no more than 550 SF and built as shown on the plans submitted to the Planning Department and date stamped March 30, 2000, Sheets 1 and Al through A3; 2. that the appliance store may not be open for business except during the hours of 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday, and from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. on Saturdays, with no more than 5 employees on site at any one time; 3. that the use of the mezzanine shall be limited to the storage of appliance boxes, any change in this use will require that the mezzanine be removed and the one space parking variance shall expire; 4. that the conditions of the Chief Building Official's March 13, 2000 memo and the Fire Marshal's March 13, 2000 memo shall be met; and 5. that any improvements for the use shall meet all California Building and Fire Codes, 1998 Edition as amended by the City of Burlingame.
