RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION
AND SIGN EXCEPTION
RESOLUTION-136-2000
RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a Categorical Exemption has been proposed and application has been made for a sign
exception for the number of signs and area of signage on the primary frontage of the restaurant located
at 1318 Burlingame Avenue, zoned C-1, Subarea A. Burlingame Avenue Commercial District, Shirley
King Trust, property owner, APN: 029-152-200;
WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on_
May 8, 2000 , at which time it reviewed and considered the staff report and all other written materials and
testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that:
1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments
received and addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the
project set forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and Categorical Exemption, per
CEQA Section 15301, construction of small structures, is hereby approved.
2. Said sign exception is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto. Findings for such sign exception are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting.
3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resol 'on be record d in he official
records of the County of San Mateo.

Conditions of approval Categorical Exemption and Sign Exception
1318 Burlingame Avenue
effective May 15, 2000
1. that the signage shall be installed as shown on the plans submitted to the Planning Department
and date stamped April 19,2000(building elevations and sign elevations)and as described in the
sign permit application dated April 19,2000 and as also described in the sign permit except that
Sign B,the valance sign,shall be removed and Sign E,the 2'x T window sign(replaceable
graphic in frame), shall be removed;
2. that back lighting for the wall sign shall be limited to a soft glow;
3. that all existing signage is removed before any new signage is installed;
4. that no additional signage shall be installed on the primary frontage of this building without
approval of a sign exception by the Planning Commission;
5. that the project shall meet all the requirements of the municipal code and of the California
Building and Fire Codes, 1998 Edition,as amended by the City of Burlingame.
