RESOLUTION APPROVING CATEGORICAL EXEMPTION
AND AMENDMENT TO SIGN EXCEPTION
RESOLUTION-214-2000
RESOLVED, by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, a categorical exemption has been proposed and application has been made for an
amendment to a sign exception for for one new secondary frontage sign located above the fourth floor
at 765 Airport Boulevard, zoned C-4, 765 Airport Boulevard Partnership, 851 Traeger Avenue #380
San Bruno, CA 94066, APN: 026-344-120;
WHEREAS, said matters were heard by the Planning Commission of the City of Burlingame on
December 11, 2000 , at which time it reviewed and considered the. staff report and all other written
materials and testimony presented at said hearing;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is RESOLVED and DETERMINED by this Planning Commission that:
1. On the basis of the Initial Study and the documents submitted and reviewed, and comments
received and addressed by this commission, it is hereby found that there is no substantial evidence that the
project set forth above will have a significant effect on the environment, and categorical exemption, per
CEQA Article 19, Section 15311, accessory structures, Class 11, construction or placement of minor
structures accessory (appurtenant to) existing commercial, industrial, or institutional facilities, including
but not limited to (a) on-premise signs is hereby approved.
2. Said sign exception is approved, subject to the conditions set forth in Exhibit "A" attached
hereto. Findings for such sign exception are as set forth in the minutes and recording of said meeting.
3. It is further directed that a certified copy of this resolutio be recorded in the official records
of the County of San Mateo.

Conditions of approval categorical exemption and amendment to sign exception
765 Airport Boulevard
effective December 18, 2000
1. that the wall sign (Signs E) shall be installed as shown on the plans submitted to the
Planning Department and date stamped October 31, 2000, (site plan, building elevations,
& sign elevations);
2. that the maximum height of the Sign A shall be 56-0", the maximum height of Sign B
shall be 61'-0", and the maximum height of Sign E shall be 55'-6";
3. that the copy of Signs A, B & E shall read "Hilton," and the maximum height of the
uppercase "H" shall be 3'-0" and the lowercase "1" shall be 3'-3 3/4", and the maximum
height of the remaining lowercase letters shall be no greater than 3'-0"; and
4. that the project shall meet all the requirements of the municipal code and of the California
Building and Fire Codes, 1998 edition, as amended by the City of Burlingame.
