HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 076-1965WJML:EAW: jw 12c RESOLUTION NO. 76 -65 A RESOLUTION CALLING FOR SEALED PROPOSALS BURLINGAME AVENUE STREET LIGHTING PROJECT RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame, California, that WHEREAS, the said Council did, on the 3rd day of May, 1965, adopt its Resolution of Intention No. 42-65 to order the removal of existing electrolier standards and the construction of new taper tube steel electrolier standards with luminaires, complete with underground conduit and conductor cable, risers, pull boxes and appurtenances, and all work auxiliary thereto in said City, all as more particularly described and set forth in said Resolution of Intention; NOW, THEREFORE, the City Clerk of said City is hereby directed to publish once a week for two weeks in the Burlingame Advance Star, a newspaper published and circulated in said City, a notice inviting sealed proposals or bids for the construction of said improvements, and referring to the plans and specifications on file in the office of said City Clerk, the first of which publica- tions shall be at least fourteen days prior to the time fixed for opening bids. All proposals or bids shall be accompanied by a cashier's or certified check payable to the order of the City amounting to ten per cent (10%) of the bid, or by a bond in said amount and payable to said City signed by the bidder and a corporate surety or by the bidder and two sureties who shall justify before any officer compe- tent to administer an oath, in double said amount and over and above all statutory exemptions. Said check shall be forfeited or said bond shall become payable to said City in case the bidder depositing the same does not, within fifteen days after written notice that the contract has been awarded to him, enter into a contract with the City. 1. Said sealed proposals or bids shall be delivered to the City Clerk of the City of Burlingame on or before 10:00 o'clock A.M., on the 2nd day of September, 1965, said time being not less than fourteen days from the time of the first publication of said notice. Bids will be publicly opened, examined and declared on said day and hour, and referred to and considered by the Council at its meeting at 8:00 o'clock P.M., on September 20,1965• I hereby certify that the foregoing is a full, true and correct copy of a resolution duly passed and adopted by the City Council of the City of Burlingame, California, at a meeting thereof held on the 19th day of July , 1965, by the following vote: AYES, and in favor thereof, Councilmen: Crosby-Diederichsen-George-Johnson-Martin.
