PATSEL UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE EMPLOY OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME WHEREAS, WILLIAM E. PATSEL, Assistant Fire Chief of the City of Burlingame, attained the maximum retirement age of sixty-five years on April 18, 1965, and will retire from the Fire Department of the City on May 1, 1965; and WHEREAS, WILLIAM E. PATSEL, joined the Fire Department as a Call Man on August 26, 1929, and as a fireman on September 26, 1931, and has faithfully served the City as a member of the Fire Department in various capacities ever since and for a period in excess of thirty-five years; having attained the rank of Captain on January 1, 1942, and of Assistant Chief on November 1, 1945; and WHEREAS, his service to the City of Burlingame and its citizens has been marked by acts of bravery of which the occasion on the evening of April 22, 1958, when, with other firemen, he entered a house charged with heat and smoke, rescued an unconscious occupant, administered first aid, and saved his life, is an exemplar, and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Burlingame to commend and congratulate WILLIAM E. PATSEL upon his retirement from the active service of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame, andit does hereby order that WILLIAM E. PATSEL, Assistant Fire Chief be, and he is hereby, commended and congratulated upon the occasion of his retirement from the Fire Department of the City of Burlingame for his long service to tht City and its residents, for the efficient manner in which his duties have been performed, for the loyalty ever accorded to those to whom it was owing, for his exceptional attendance record during the years of his service, and for the outstanding acts of bravery which marked the performance of his duties. RESOLVED, FURTHER, that it is the wish of the Council that his retirement years be long, healthy and happy. YMARTIN �D. I. Herbert K.
