RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
APPROVING JOINT POWERS AGREEMENT, AUTHORIZING MEMBERSHIP IN BAY
AREA EMPLOYEES RELATIONS SERVICE JOINT POWERS AUTHORITY, AND
AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO EXECUTE THE AGREEMENT
BY AND ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame:
WHEREAS, the City has been a member of the Employee Relations Service Joint Powers
Authority (ERS) since 1981, and has used its services to analyze and utilize employment trends; and
WHEREAS, the members of ERS has revised the agreement to update services and
facilitate use of internet resources; and
WHEREAS, the revised agreement will continue these services under a new title of Bay
Area Employee Relations Service,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS RESOLVED AND ORDERED:
1. The Joint Powers Agreement for the Bay Area Employee Relations Service attached
hereto as Exhibit A is approved.
2. The City Manager is authorized and directed to execute the Joint Powers Agreement on
behalf of the City of Burlingame.
3. The Clerk is directed to attest to the signature of the Manager.
I, ANN T. MUSSO, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing
resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 20tiday of October
2003, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
AYES: COUNCILMEMBERS: BAYLOCR, COFFEY, CALLIGAN, JANNEY, O'MAHONY
NOES: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
ABSENT: COUNCILMEMBERS: NONE
