ORDERING AND CALLING A SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
TO BE HELD IN THE CITY OF BURLINGAME ON NOVEMBER
8, 1966, FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUBMITTING AN ADVISORY
MEASURE RELATIVE TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY HALL
AND PROVIDING FOR THE CONSOLIDATION OF SUCH SPECIAL
MUNICIPAL ELECTION WITH THE STATEWIDE ELECTION TO BE
HELD ON NOVEMBER 8, 1966, FIXING POLLING PLACES,
DESIGNATING OFFICERS AND PROVIDING FOR NOTICE OF
SUCH SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION.
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame,
and IT IS HEREBY ORDERED as follows:
Section 1: DATE OF ELECTION. A special municipal election
is hereby called and ordered to be held in the City of Burlingame
County of San Mateo, State of California, on Tuesday, November 8,
1966, for the purpose of submitting the advisory measure set
forth hereinafter.
Section 2: SUBMISSION OF A PROPOSED ADVISORY MEASURE
RELATIVE TO THE CONSTRUCTION OF A CITY HALL. The following
advisory measure relative to the construction of a city hall
shall be submitted at the special election to be held in the
City of Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California,
on Tuesday, November 8, 1966, to -wit:
PROPOSAL
ADVISORY MEASURE RELATING TO THE CONSTRUCTION
OF A CITY HALL.
"Shall the City of Burlingame, in the exercise of the
powers conferred upon it by law, construct a new city hall?"
Section 3: REGISTRATION TO CLOSE SEPTEMBER 15, 1966.
Registration for said election shall close on September
15, 1966; no persons registered after that date will be
entitled to vote at said election.

Section 4: CONSOLIDATION OF SPECIAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
WITH STATEWIDE ELECTION. The Board of Supervisors of the County
of San Mateo, State of California, is hereby requested to consoli-
date the special municipal election herein called and ordered
with the statewide election to be held on November 8, 1966, as
is provided in 23300 and sections following of the Election Code.
The City Clerk is hereby directed to file certified copies
of this resolution with said Board of Supervisors and with the
County Clerk of the County of San Mateo, State of California.
Section 5: TIME WHEN POLLS KEPT OPEN. At said special
municipal election, the polls shall be opened at 7 o'clock in
the morning of the day of said election, and shall be kept open
until 8 o'clock in the evening of the same day, when the polls
shall be closed, subject to the provisions of 14436 and
14437 of the Election Code.
When the polls are closed, the election officers shall
count the ballots cast thereat and canvass the votes cast on
the advisory measure. Thereupon they shall make return thereof
in the time, form and manner required for the counting, can-
vassing and returning of votes cast at general municipal elec-
tions within said city.
Section 6: CANVASS OF BALLOTS BY COUNCIL. The Council
shall meet at its usual place of meeting on the first Tuesday
next succeeding said election to canvass the returns.
Section 7: CONSOLIDATION OF VOTING PRECINCTS. Voting
precincts for conducting the special municipal election to be
held in the City of Burlingame on Tuesday, November 8, 1966,
shall consist of the regular election precincts established by
the Board of Supervisors of San Mateo County for holding the
statewide election on said day or any consolidation of said
regular election precincts last established by said Board of
Supervisors.

Section 8: ELECTION OFFICERS. The persons who are
appointed to serve as election officers at each polling place
for the statewide election to be held on November 8, 1966, are
hereby appointed to serve as election officers at each such
respective polling place at said special municipal election.
Section 9: PUBLICATION OF NOTICE OF ELECTION AND OF
MEASURE TO BE VOTED ON. The City Clerk shall cause a notice of
election and a synopsis of the advisory measure to be voted upon
to be published in the Advance -Star at least once a week for
two successive weeks under the following heading: 11Notice of
Special Municipal Election and Advisory Measure to be Voted ON."
Section 10: PUBLICATION OF ELECTION PRECINCTS. POLLING
PLACES. LIST OF ELECTION OFFICIALS. The special municipal
election herein called and ordered is to be consolidated with
the statewide election to be held November 8, 1966, the
publication of the precincts, polling places and names of
election officers and members of precinct boards is not
necessary nor required.
