CHANGING NAME OF A PORTION OF MARSTEN ROAD
TO NORTH CAROLAN AVENUE
WHEREAS, on November 18, 1968, the Council of the City
of Burlingame received a written request from CALIFORNIA MILL
EQUIPMENT COMPANY to change the name of Marsten Road for the rea-
son that persons unfamiliar with the area and having need to trans-
act business at establishments fronting on said street find it
difficult to find, and
14HEP.EAS, all persons having properties fronting upon that
portion of Marsten Road to be affected by this resolution have been
notified of such request and of this Council's intention to con-
sider the same at its regular meeting on December 2, 1968, and
WHEREAS, this Council has considered said request and all
objections thereto.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY FOUND, DETERMINED AND RE-
SOLVED as follows:
1. That portion of Marsten Road situated in the City of
Burlingame, County of San Mateo, State of California, particularly
described in Exhibit "A9R attached hereto, incorporated herein, and
made a part of this resolution by reference, is in effect an inte-
gral part of North Carolan Avenue and, therefore, ought to bear the
name of North Carolan Avenue.
2. It will be for the best interests of the public gen-
erally and of the property owners and tenants whose property or
premises front upon that portion of Marsten Road generally des-
cribed in Exhibit 10A90, to change its name from Marsten Road to
North Carolan Avenue, and the public convenience will be served
thereby.
3. No objections have been made to the change of name
proposed in Paragraph 2 above.

4. Pursuant to the authority contained in §34091.1 of
the Government Code of the State of California, the request of
CALIFORNIA MILL EQUIPMENT COMPANY is approved, and it is hereby
ordered that the name of that portion of Marsten Road particularly
described in Exhibit "A" be, and the same is hereby, changed to
North Carolan Avenue,
5. Pursuant to the provisions of §34092 of the Govern-
ment Code of the State of Cali�'ornia, the City Clerk shall
promptly forward a certified copy of this resolution to the Board
of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo.

Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
2nd day of December , 1968 and adopted thereafter
by the following vote:
AYES: Councilmen: Crosby-Diederichsen-George-Johnson.
NOES: Councilmen: None.
Absent Councilmen: Martin.

DESCRIPTION FOR PORTION OF MARSTEN
ROAD RENAMED NORTH CAROLAN AVENUE
(FORMERLY ROLLINS ROAD)
A portion of the street right-of-way described in ex-
hibit �'A" of deed recorded June 9, 1948 in Volume 1497 Official
Records of San Mateo County at Page 449 (File No. 35342H) more
particularly described as follows:
Commencing for reference at a point which is the inter-
section of the northwesterly right-of-way lire of Broadway, a 60,
street, and the line described as N62°121W 581.99 feet in the
above described deed, said point of reference being the point of
beginning of the said deed; thence N62°1211,1 581.99 feet to the
True Point of Beginning; thence along the right-of-way line of the
said deed, along the arc of a curve to the left of radius 20 feet
through a central angle of 84°00'30'1, a distance of 29.32 feet to
the end of the curve; thence, continuing along the said right-of-
way line, tangent to the curve S33°47130Md, a distance of 161.99
feet; thence, continuing along the said right-of-way line,
N62°121W a distance of 60.32 feet; thence, leaving said right-of-
way line N33°47'30'E a distance of 180.00 feet; thence S62°121E a
distance of 78.33 feet to the True Point of Beginning.
