HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 068-1968RESOLUTION NO. 68-68 COMMENDING ROBERT HINTERMANN UPON THE OCCASION OF HIS RETIREMENT FROM THE EMPLOY OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME WHEREAS, ROBERT HINTERMANN, Director of Traffic, Police Department of the City of Burlingame will retire from the Police Department of the City on October 1, 1968; and WHEREAS, ROBERT HINTERMANN joined the Police Department as a patrolman in 1943, and has faithfully served the City as a member of the Police Department in various capacities ever since and for a period of twenty-five (25) years, having been appointed to the position of Director of Traffic; and WHEREAS, during the period of his service to the City of Burlingame, it has seen a marked increase in population, living units, subdivisions with their requisite streets and inter- sections, development of a substantial commercial area with a concommitant increase in commercial vehicular traffic; and WHEREAS, direct and primary responsibility has been assumed by ROBERT HINTERMANN in his capacity as Director of Traffic, for studying, reporting and solving problems of traffic flow, congestion and movement induced by such increases in the numbers of streets, living units, population and number of motor vehicles; and WHEREAS, ROBERT HINTERMANN, in his capacity as Director of Traffic, has served as a staff advisor to the Parking Commission of the City of Burlingame; and WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame and its Police Department was honroed by his election to, and service in, the Office of the President of the Peninsula Peace Officers Association in 1954; and WHEREAS, ROBERT HINTERMANN has enthusiastically super- vised the organization and performance of the traffic patrol system of the Burlingame Elementary School District; and WHEREAS, it is the desire of the City Council of the City of Burlingame to commend and to congratulate ROBERT HINTERMANN and to express appreciation for his diligent, efficient and loyal attention to duties upon his retirement from the active service of the City; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame, and it does hereby order that ROBERT HINTERMANN, Director of Traffic be, and he is hereby, commended and congratulated upon the occasion of his retirement from the Police Department of the City of Burlingame for his long service to the City and its residents, for the efficient manner in which his duties have been performed, for the loyalty ever accorded to those to whom it was owing and for his exceptional attendance record during the years of his service. RESOLVED FURTHER, that it is the wish of the Council that his retirement years be long, healthy and happy. CHARLOTTE JOH" N,/y2MAYOR I, HERBERT K.
