HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 070-1971RESOLUTION N0.70 - 71 TERMINATING AGREEMENT WITH THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO CONCERNING TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame that: WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame, on November 7, 1963, entered into an agreement with the County of San Mateo concerning the transient occupancy tax providing for the use of the proceeds derived from the respective transient occupancy taxes of the County and of the City of Burlingame; and WHEREAS, said agreement concerning the transient oc- cupancy tax provided for the promotion and servicing of conven- tions and tourism on a county -wide basis through the Fair and Convention Association; and WHEREAS, it is necessary and desirable that said agree- ment concerning the transient occupancy tax between the County and the City of Burlingame be terminated effective the 31st day of December, 1971; and WHEREAS, the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo, State of California, adopted its Resolution No. 29762, entitled "RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING TERMINATION OF CERTAIN AGREEMENT CONCERNING TRANSIENT OCCUPANCY TAX WITH VARIOUS CITIES OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO" on November 23, 1971, wherein and whereby it terminated and rescinded its said agreement with the City of Burlingame effective on the 31st day of December, 1971; NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED AND DETERMINED AS FOLLOWS: 1. That this City Council shall, and does hereby, ter- minate and rescind said agreement concerning the transient oc- cupancy tax with the County of San Mateo, said termination and rescission to be effective on the 31st day of December, 1971. -1- 2. That the City Clerk be, and he is hereby, authoriz and directed to send a certified copy of this resolution to the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo. 01 Mayo I, HERBERT K.
