COMMENDING THE AMERICAN LEGION ON ITS
50th ANNIVERSARY
WHEREAS, on March 15, 16 and 17, 1919, the first meeting
of The American Legion was held in the American Club, 4 Rue
Gabriel, Paris, France; and
WHEREAS, The American Legion, as an organization of
veterans of American servicemen associated to uphold and defend
the Constitution of the United States of America, has been a
vital force in American life for the past half century;
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council
of the City of Burlingame that it commends and congratulates
The American Legion on this occasion of its 50th Birthday.

Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
17th day of March 1969, and adopted thereafter by the
following vote:

NOES: Councilmen: None
