AUTHORIZING PARTICIPATION IN THE SAN MATEO COUNTY CONVENTION AND
VISITORS BUREAU
WHEREAS, there has been presented to this City Council a
communication from the San Mateo County Tourist & Convention
Committee recommending the formation of a non-profit corporation
to be known as the SAN MATEO CONVENTION AND VISITORS BUREAU; and
WHEREAS, it appears to this City Council that it is in the
best interests of the citizens of the City of Burlingame that the
City should participate fully in the formation and operation of
said non-profit corporation on the manner outlined in the report
above referred to:
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that this City Council approvks
the proposal that there should be formed a non-profit corporation
to be called the San Mateo County Convention and Visitors Bureau
for the purposes stated in the communication submitted to this
City Council by the San Mateo County Tourist & Convention Commit-
tee, and the City of Burlingame agrees to participate in the
formation and operation of said non-profit corporation on the
basis of the financing plan described in the communication so
submitted.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Irving S. Amstrup, be and
hereby is, the director of said non-profit corporation to be
designated by this City as provided for in the communication
above mentioned; it is understood that the provisions of
incorporation shall provide the City the option to withdraw
from the organization after a priod of two years, and/or that
the membership can be cancelled upon proper notice.

Burlingame do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was
introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held on the
18th day of October, 1971, and adopted thereafter by the
following vote:
AYES: Councilmen
NOES: Councilmen
