RESOLUTION NO. 5-69
A RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE COUNTY OF
SAN MATEO THROUGH THE REGIONAL PLANNING
COMMITTEE, TO ENGAGE IN COUNTY -WIDE
PLANNING WITHIN THE INCORPORATED LIMITS
OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME.
WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Committee of San Mateo County
was formed in 1964 to coordinate the County -wide planning function
between the cities and the County, and
WHEREAS, voting membership in the Regional Planning Committee
(consists of a City Councilman and a Planning Commissioner from
each of the cities in San Mateo County and a County Supervisor and
County Planning Commissioner, and
WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame has been represented on the
(Regional Planning Committee since its establishment in 1964, and
WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Committee has been actively
engaged in the preparation and publication of long-range County-
wide plans, notably on Parks and Open Space and Bayfront conser-
vation and development, and
WHEREAS, these and other preliminary studies have been
elements of the comprehensive revision of the County -wide General
Plan, the major item in the authorized RPC work program, and
budget since the 1965-1966 fiscal year, and
WHEREAS, the City Planning Directors Advisory Committee of
the Regional Planning Committee have participated on a continuing
basis in the review and modification of the General Plan revision
work program which has been adopted by the RPC Executive Commit
and
WHEREAS, the Regional Planning Committee has established the
S General Plan Review Subcommittee, which has been active in review-
ing the Physical Setting Report, the first in a series of Back-
ground Information Reports, and

WHEREAS, the County General Plan involves proposals and pro-
grams of a County -wide multi -jurisdictional nature and does not
entail the preparation of detailed community or neighborhood plans
(which are more appropriately part of an individual city's general
plan, and
WHEREAS, in order to coordinate effectively plans and
of a County -wide nature, it is necessary that the County General
Plan consider and make proposals for all areas of the County, and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City of Burlingame
does hereby express its support for and continued participation in
the comprehensive revision of the County -wide General Plan by the
Regional Planning Committee, and
That the City of Burlingame does hereby authorize the
Planning Committee to engage in County -wide planning for that
portion of San Mateo County within the incorporated limits of the
City of Burlingame.

do hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was introduced at
a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 20th day of
January, 1969, and adopted thereafter by the following vote:
