RESOLUTION NO. 65-74
RESOLUTION DESIGNATING BURLINGAME AS A
BICENTENNIAL COMMUNITY
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of Burlingame,
WHEREAS, the Declaration of Independence of the United
States of America was signed on July 4, 1776, which guaranteed
the citizens therein, among other things, their right to
individual freedom and equality; and
WHEREAS, the rich cultural heritage of the County of San
Mateo has made significant contributions to the quest for, and
the gaining of, independence of the citizens of the United
States of America; and
WHEREAS, this Council is desirous of supporting efforts
to commemorate and celebrate this nation's 200th anniversary
in the year 1976:
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the City of
Burlingame hereby declares its intent to become a Bicentennial
Community and this Council does hereby endorse the efforts of
the San Mateo County Bicentennial Planning Committee.
