HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 054-1974RESOLUTION NO. 54-74 RESCINDING RESOLUTION NO. .51-7.4 AWARDING CONTRACT - ROOF REPAIR, BURLINGAME POLICE DEPARTMENT - AND AWARDING CONTRACT TO STERLING ROOFING COMPANY, INC. JOB NO. 74-11 WHEREAS, the City Council authorized an invitation for bids for approximately 5,900 square feet of built-up composition roofing, including raising electrical, mechanical and radio equip- ment, and all appurtenant work; and WHEREAS, on August 28, 1974, all bids received were opened before the City Clerk and the Director of Public Works; and WHEREAS, PENINSULA SECURITY BUILDING CO., LTD., a cor- poration doing business under the name and style of IZMIRIAN ROOF- ING & SHEET METAL, submitted the lowest bid for doing said work for the sum of $8,926.00; and WHEREAS, by its Resolution No. 51-74 entitled "Awarding Contract - Roof Repair - Burlingame Police Department - Job No. 74-11," adopted September 3, 1974, this Council accepted said low- est bid and resolved that a contract be entered into between said lowest bidder and the City of Burlingame for the performance of the work and authorized the City Manager to execute the contract on behalf of the City; and WHEREAS, said lowest bidder cannot commence the work within the time designated in the contract; and WHEREAS, the said lowest bidder has consented that the bid be awarded to a bidder who can commence the work within the - 1 - time designated; and WHEREAS, STERLING ROOFING COMPANY, INC., a corporation, submitted the next lowest bid for doing said work for the sum of $9,187.00, and can commence performance within the time designated) NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, AND IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that: 1. Resolution No. 51-74 entitled "Awarding Contract - Roof Repair - Burlingame Police Department - Job No. 74-11," adopted September 3, 1974, be, and the same is hereby, rescinded. 2. The bid of STERLING ROOFING COMPANY, INC., a cor- poration, the second lowest bid, in the amount of $9,187.00, be, and the same is hereby, accepted. 3. A contract be entered into between the successful bidder hereinabove referred to and the City of Burlingame for the performance of said work and that the City Manager be, and he is hereby, authorized for and on behalf of the City of Burlingame, to execute said contract, and to approve the faithful performance bond and labor and materials bond required to be furnished by the contractor. i Xi —8 MAYOR I, HERBERT K.
