RESOLUTION DESIGNATING THE HOUSING AUTHORITY
OF THE COUNTY OF SAN MATEO AS THE PUBLIC
HOUSING AGENCY AUTHORIZED TO OPERATE THE
SECTION 8 EXISTING HOUSING PROGRAM FOR AND
ON BEHALF OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of BURLIN.AM
State of California, that:
WHEREAS, the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974,
jPublic Law 93-383, in Title II thereof, requires that cities and
counties, as a condition of initial and continued eligibility for j
Community Development Block Grants, have a Housing Assistance Plan;
and

WHEREAS, the Housing Assistance Plan adopted by this
i
municipality calls for the operation of the Section 8. Existing
i
Housing Program by a Public Housing Agency; and
WHEREAS, the Housing Authority of the County of San Mateo
has been operating the Section 23 Leased Housing Program, the pre-
decessor to the Section 8 Existing Housing Program, within the
limits of this City for many years previously and has tendered its

services to be the Public Housing Agency, as described in the
Housing and Community Development Act and the Housing Assistance
Plan, to operate the Section 8 Existing Housing Program for this

City; and
WHEREAS, it is necessary that this City Council, by virtue
of this Resolution, officially designate the Housing Authority of
s
jthe County of San Mateo as the Public Housing Agency authorized to
{
operate said Section 8 Existing dousing Program within the City
limits hereof:
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED by the City Council:

of the City of BURLINGAME that the Housing .Authority of the

County of San Mateo be, and the same is hereby, designated as the
:;blic Housing Agency within the meaningof the F.ovs.i..ng and
I
Community Development.Act of 1974, Public Law 93-383, authorized
to operate the Section 8 Existing Housing Program within the
I
incorporated limits of this City.
HERBERT K. WHITE, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, does
hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at
a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 3rd day of
November, 1975, and adopted thereafter by the following vote:
