AUTHORIZING EXECUTION OF AN AGREEMENT WITH
HART.KRIVATSY.STUBEE FOR THE PLANNING AND DESIGN
OF FACILITIES ALONG THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY SHORELINE
IN BURLINGAME FOR THE EXCLUSIVE USE
BY PEDESTRIANS AND BICYCLES
WHEREAS, on May 15, 1972, the City Council of the
City of Burlingame adopted its Resolution No. 32-72 entitled
"Adopting a System of Bike Routes Through the City of
Burlingame" with the intention of creating a future bicycle
path along the shoreline linking Millbrae with the bicycle
path through Coyote Point Regional Park; and
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting held November 26, 1973,
the Burlingame Planning Commission unanimously recommended
to the City Council that priority be given to adoption and
implementation of a Bayside bicycle pathway; and
WHEREAS, on April 1, 1974, the City Council of
the City of Burlingame adopted Resolution No. 17-74 authorizing
and directing execution and filing of application with
Metropolitan Transportation Commission for disbursement of
funds for planning facilities for the exclusive use by
pedestrians and bicycles; and
WHEREAS, the Transportation Claim for $4,400.00
that was submitted March 19, 1974 was subsequently updated
April 3, 1974 to indicate that the estimated total amount
required will be $9,000.00; and that the claim is less than
500 of the amount required to meet the claimant's total expen-
ditures in FY 74-75; and
WHEREAS, City services by Park ($400), Public Works
($600) and Planning ($3,600), respectively, will approximate
$4,600.00 to assist in planning and incorporating these
pathways in Bayside Park, the Anza Master Plan and the Shore-
line Specific Plan; and
WHEREAS, at a regular meeting held November 26, 1973,
the Burlingame Planning Commission unanimously recommended
to the City Council that priority be given to adoption and
implementation of a Bayside bicycle pathway compatible with
the design suggested by Charles Eley, a former city employee
who is now employed by Hart.Krivatsy.Stubee; and
WHEREAS, the consulting firm of Hart.Krivatsy.Stubee
which published BART/TRAILS in February, 1974, a comprehensive
plan and report for bicycling, riding and hiking trails for
the BART system, has submitted a proposed work program to
work with the City of Burlingame for similar consulting
services. Their Proposed Work Program for a Bicycle/Pedestrian
Trail for the Burlingame Shoreline dated June 27, 1974 is
attached as Exhibit A.
RESOLVED, by the City Council of the City of
Burlingame, California, and this Council does hereby FIND,
ORDER AND DETERMINE as follows:
1. The public interest and convenience require
execution of an agreement with Hart.Krivatsy.Stubee to perform
the outlined scope of work within 150 calendar days for an
amount not to exceed four thousand four hundred dollars
(4,400.00).
2. The City Manager be, and he is hereby authorized
to finalize and sign an agreement for and on behalf of the
City of Burlingame.
3. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and instructed
to attest said signature.

was introduced at a regular meeting of the City Council held
on the 15th day of July, 1974, and adopted thereafter by
the following vote:
