RESOLUTION INDICATING INTENTION TO COMPLY
WITH REGIONAL WATER QUALITY CONTROL BOARD
REQUIREMENT FOR DECHLORI14ATION OF TREATED
WASTEWATER
WHEREAS, the California Regional ?later Quality Control
Board, San Francisco Bay Region, has established requirements that
all wastewater dischargers must eliminate chlorine residual prior
to discharge, and
WHEREAS, the City of Burlingame has been given a time
schedule by which the City is mandated to meet the chlorine
residual requirement, and
WHEREAS, the City treated wastewater disposal system is
mart of a subregional facility which includes the Cities of
Burlingame, Millbrae, South San Francisco and San Bruno and San
ancisco International Airport, all of which agenciec are subject
the same Regional Water Quality Control Board requirements, and
WHEREAS, it has been desirable and necessary to study

WHEREAS, such a subregional engineering study has been

WHEREAS, the engineering report recommends implementation
f a common use dechlorination facility as being the best means
which the combined agencies can meet the chlorine residual

WHEREAS, the Regional Water Quality Control Board has
required a report indicating intention of proceeding with imple-
mentation of a project necessary to meet the chlorine residual
requirement in accordance with a proposed new time schedule and
that such intention be indicated to the Regional Water Quality
Control Board by the date of September 1, 1975,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council,
City of Burlingame, hereby indicates approval in general principle)
with the recommendations of the engineering report, including
the recommended time schedule; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the City indicates its
intention of cooperating with the other agencies involved in the
recommended common project on the matter of effecting necessary
agreements for financing, engineering, construction and operation
of the project.
