HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 090-1977RESOLUTION NO. 90-77 RESOLUTION OF PUBLIC CONVENIENCE AND NECESSITY TOWNE TAXI RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame that: WHEREAS, Chapter 6.36 of the Burlingame Municipal Code provides that taxi permits may be granted by this Council upon notice and hearing and a determination of public convenience and necessity; and WHEREAS, an application was received from TOWNE TAXI requesting the issuance of four (4) taxi permits for the use of that company within the City of Burlingame; and WHEREAS, a hearing on the granting of said permits was commenced on October 3, 1977, and continued to October 17, 1977, notice having been given as required by law, evidence taken, and testimony presented; NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby ORDERED AND DETERMINED that this Council does declare that the public convenience and necessity require that four (4) taxicab permits be granted to TOWNE TAXI, this Council having determined from the evidence and testimony presented at said hearing that there is a demand for additional taxicab service, that existing taxicab service is not adequate, that the applicant, TOWNE TAXI is financially responsibile and has appropriate experience, and that additional taxicab service will have no effect upon traffic congestion, parking and will not be a hazard to the public. Mayor I, EVELYN H. HILL, City Clerk of the City of Burlingame, do hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular -1- meeting of the City Council held on the 7th day of November , 1977, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote: AYES: COUNCILMEN: Crosby-Harrison-Mangini-Martin NOES: COUNCILMEN: None ABSENT: COUNCILMEN: Amstrup ,f ity Clerk -2-
