HomeMy WebLinkAboutReso - CC - 066-1977RESOLUTION NO. 66-77 AUTHORIZING AN APPROPRIATION OF $.50 PER EMPLOYEE TO THE COMMUNICATIONS PORTION OF THE CONGRESS OF ELECTED OFFICIALS BUDGET FOR TWO YEARS WHEREAS, the Congress of Elected Officials has been established to promote efficiency in government through the voluntary cooperation of all elected officials, administrators and their staffs; and to stabilize the cost of government while maintaining and improving services by the implementation of cooperative economy programs; and WHEREAS, in the development of funds to carry out the project major donors from the foundation and corporate communities have urged the participat- ing local governing boards to financially commit to the project as an indica- tion of their support for its goals and objectives; and WHEREAS, the County government has been carrying the CEO cost of communicating with elected and appointed officials to date; and WHEREAS, the budget for communications (supplies, graphics, printing, copying, mailing, etc) is $10,000 annually for two years, and WHEREAS, the contributing local governments will have the record of accomplishment and cost savings from the first year's experience against which to weigh the request for second year continuation funding; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the City Council of the City of Burlingame resolves to continue $.50 per employee to the communications budget of the Congress, in anticipation of resultant economies for this two- year pilot project. This resolution shall be effective when like resolutions are adopted by a majority of the agencies of the County of San Mateo. B . WLIMEAl 7/29/77 8/2/77 l I, EVELYN H.
