RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF BURLINGAME
REQUESTING SAN MATEO COUNTY BOARD OF SUPERVISORS TO ESTABLISH
PRIORITY PLAN FOR EXPENDITURES UNDER PROVISIONS OF THE
NEJEDLY-HART STATE, URBAN AND COASTAL PARK BOND ACT OF 1976
RESOLVED by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame that:
WHEREAS, the voters of California have approved the Nejedly-Hart
State, Urban and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976, which makes available eighty-
five million dollars ($85,000,000) to be distributed to counties, cities and
districts for the acquisition, development or restoration of real property
for park, beach, recreational and historical resources preservation purposes;
and
WHEREAS, the county must consult with all cities and districts within
the county which are eligible to receive grant funds under provision of the
act and develop and submit to the state for approval a priority plan for
expenditure of the county's allocation; and
WHEREAS, said priority plan must be approved by at least fifty per
cent (50%) of the population of the cities and districts representing fifty
per cent (50%) of the population of the cities and districts within the county;
and
WHEREAS, the 1974 Bond Act, which required the same general terms
for consultation with cities and districts resulted in a ninety per cent - ten
per cent (90% - 10%) (90% of funds to cities and recreation and park districts
and 10% to county) distribution of funds;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council of the City
of Burlingame herewith requests the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors to
establish the priority plan for the expenditure of the county's allocation of
funds under the Nejedly-Hart State, Urban and Coastal Park Bond Act of 1976, at
(ninety per cent (90%) to the cities and recreation and park districts, and
ten per cent (10%) to the county, and submit this priority plan to the state
for its approval.

certify that the foregoing Resolution was introduced at a regular meeting of
the City Council held on the 5th day of July, 1977, and was adopted thereafter
by the following vote:
