RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL, CITY OF
BURLINGAME, APPROVING THE APPLICATION
FOR 1974 STATE GRANT MONEYS - WASHINGTON
PARK PROJECT
WHEREAS, the people of the State of California have enacted the
State Beach, Park, Recreational and Historical Facilities Bond Act of 1974,
which provides funds to the State of California and its political subdivisions
for acquiring lands and for developing facilities for public outdoor recrea-
tion and historical purposes; and
WHEREAS, the State Department of Parks and Recreation has been
delegated that responsibility for the administration of the program within
the state, setting up necessary procedures governing application by local
agencies under the program; and
WHEREAS, said procedures established by the State Department of
Parks and Recreation require the applicant to certify by resolution the
approval of applications prior to submission of said applications to the
State; and
WHEREAS, said applications contain assurances that the applicant
must comply with; and
WHEREAS, the City's general plan was first adopted by the City
Council on October 20, 1969; and Washington Park is part of the open space
element and conservation element of the plan; and
WHEREAS, the proposed Washington Park project appears on the City's
plan, is consistent with the California Outdoor Recreation Resources Plan,
and is in conformity with the State Environmental Goals and Policy Report; and
WHEREAS, the project must be compatible with the land use plans of
those jurisdictions immediately surrounding the project;

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the City Council hereby:
1. Approves the filing of an application for 1974 state grant
assistance; and
2. Certifies that said agency understands the assurances in the
application; and
3. Certifies that said agency has sufficient funds to operate and
maintain the project; and
4. Certifies that said agency meets the planning requirements and
that the project is compatible with the land use Plans of those jurisdiction
immediately surrounding the project; and
5. Appoints the City Manager as agent of the City to conduct all
negotiations, execute and submit all documents, including but not limited to
applications, agreements, amendments, payment requests, and so on, which may
be necessary for the completion of the aforementioned project.

BOARD OF SUPERVISORS, COUNTY OF SAN MATEO, STATE OF CALIFORNIA
RESOLUTION AMENDING PRIORITY PLAN OF THE CITY OF
BURLINGAME FOR THE EXPENDITURE UNDER THE PROVISIONS
OF THE STATE BEACH PARK RECREATIONAL AND HISTORICAL
FACILITIES BOND ACT OF 1974
RESOLVED, by the Board of Supervisors of the County of San Mateo,
State of California, that
WHEREAS, by Resolution No. 32848, dated July 2, 1974, this Board
adopted its priority plan under the provisions of the State Beach Park
Recreational and Historical Facilities Bond Act of 1974, and so advised the
State Department of Parks and Recreation, and
WHEREAS, said resolution provides for expenditures of the County's
allocations for cities and districts within the County which are authorized
to provide park and recreation services, the City of Burlingame, having been
one of the cities which has submitted a priority plan, and
WHEREAS, the County of San Mateo has been advised by the City of
Burlingame by Exhibit A attached hereto that it desires to change its
priority plan for the expenditure of the 1974 State Park Bond Proposition I
funds, and
WHEREAS, the City,of Burlingame desires to designate a new priority
plan for allocation of the 1974 California State Park Bond funds,
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the priority plan for the
expenditure of the County's allocation of funds under the State Beach Park
Recreational and Historical Facilities Bond Act of 1974, is
HEREBY AMENDED, to delete from the City of Burlingame's original
priority list, approved by this Board in its Resolution #32848, the develop-
ment of Bayside Park and to substitute therefore the development of the
Washington Park athletic facility, and the same is hereby approved.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Director of Parks and Recreation
is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this resolution to the State
Department of Parks and Recreation.
