RESOLUTION DECLARING WATER SHORTAGE EMERGENCY
CONDITION
RESOLVED by the City Council of the City of Burlingame as follows:
WHEREAS, pursuant to Sections 350, et seq., of the Water Code of
the State of California, a city may establish procedures for conservation
of water upon the determination of a water shortage emergency condition; and
WHEREAS, this Council has adopted Ordinance 1101 establishing
Chapter 15.06 of the Burlingame Municipal Code, which ordinance provides for
regulations, restrictions, allocations, exceptions and rates to be applied in
such a condition of water service emergency; and
WHEREAS, the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission has determined
that a twenty-five percent (25%) reduction in water supply will be made to all
customers of the San Francisco Water Department, including the City of
Burlingame; and
WHEREAS, the rules, regulations and restrictions set forth in said
Chapter 15.06 of the Burlingame Municipal Code are intended to conserve the
water supply of the City for the greatest public benefit, with particular
regard to the domestic use, sanitation and fire protection;
NOW, THEREFORE, it is hereby RESOLVED that the City Council of the
City of Burlingame declares that a water shortage emergency condition prevails
within the area served by the Burlingame Water Department; and that the
provisions of Chapter 15.06 of the Burlingame Municipal Code and California
Water Code Section 350, et seq. shall be in effect until such time as this
Council determines that a water shortage emergency condition no longer exists.
