AUTHORIZING PATE INCREASE AND AMENDING
AGREEMENT WITH SAN MATEO COUNTY
SCAVENGER COMPANY
RESOLVED, by the CITY COUNCIL of the City of Burlingame,
County of San Mateo, California, that:
WHEREAS, on September 1, 1957, the City entered into
an agreement with the SAN MATEO COUNTY SCAVENGER COMPANY for the
collection and disposal of all garbage, rubbish and waste matter
accumulated within the City of Burlingame, which agreement as
amended on December 18, 1967, and March 15, 1971, is in full
force and effect; and
WHEREAS, by the terms of said agreement the Scavenger
Company has requested a rate increase, which request has been
duly considered and evaluated by this Council,
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS HEREBY DETERMINED AND ORDERED
that:
1. Under the terms of paragraph 18 of the agreement
between the CITY OF BURLINGAME and the SAN MATEO COUNTY SCAVENGER
CO1,1PANY dated September 1, 1957, and amended December 18, 1967,
and March 15, 1971, the SAN MATEO COUNTY SCAVENGER COMPANY has
applied to this Council for a rate increase.
2. This Council does hereby determine that the pro-
posed rates are fair to the residents of the City of Burlingame
and are required to maintain a proper operating ratio between
collections and expenses.
3. The following schedule of monthly -rates as to col"
lection shall apply within the City of Burlingame.

These are monthly charges for the following services:
Weekly garbage, rear -yard pickup, plus
Twice -a -month pickup of garden cuttings (in accordance
with existing rules and regulations).
Collections of, over 40 gallons shall be paid for at the
rate of 7.9 cents per gallon.
Compacted Refuse Collection Rates:
Compacted refuse collection - 40 cubic yard front -
loading trucks supplied by Company - $6.29 per cubic yard
for each pick-up.
4. Said new rates shall be applied to all services
performed on and after July 1, 1978.
5. The City's Mayor be and he is hereby authorized to
sign said agreement for and on behalf of the City of Burlingame.
6. The City Clerk is hereby ordered and instructed to
attest such signature.

a regular meeting of the City Council held on the 10 day of
July, 1978, and was adopted thereafter by the following vote:
