MEETING MINUTES
Regular Meeting of the Burlingame Parks & Recreation Commission
Thursday, December 18, 2014
The regular meeting of the Burlingame Parks & Recreation Commission was called to order by Co -
Chair Baird at 7:02 pm at the Burlingame Recreation Center, 850 Burlingame Ave., Burlingame.
Director Glomstad welcomed the new commissioners, Joe Dito, Shari Lewis and Claire Schissler.
1. ROLL CALL
Commissioners Present: Baird, Baum, Dito, Lewis & Schissler
Commissioners Absent: Martin, Colson
Staff Present: Director Glomstad, Administrative Secretary Helley and
Supervisor Acquisti
Others Present: Ed Larios, Burlingame; Frank Hunt, Burlingame, John Gorgon,
Burlingame, and Suze Gardner, Burlingame Aquatic Club
2. MINUTES
Approvals of the Minutes of the November 20, 2014 regular meeting were approved.
3. PUBLIC COMMENTS
None
5. OLD BUSINESS
A. Parks & Recreation Department Mission Statement — Glomstad reported staff will attend
the January 2015 Commission meeting with final options for the Commission to review.
6. NEW BUSINESS
A. Aquatic Facility Update — Staff Report
Director Glomstad informed the Commission about the current status of the relationship
between the City and the District. Commissioner Lewis asked what the District said the usage for the
City was. Director Glomstad responded the District believed the City use has been 91%. After the
request by the District for additional hours, the District estimates the new usage to be 87% City and 13%
District.
Commissioner Baum inquired if the usage math used matches the percentage split. Director
Glomstad stated the hours of usage can be reallocated in different ways depending on how unused time
to commutated. The BHS pool is large enough to accommodate all users. The costs needed to keep a
pool operational remain whether the pool is open or not.

a. Community Center Master Plan Update — The Community Advisory Committee
(CAC) will be reaching out to the Community in January and the next meeting
will take place in late January to early February of 2015.

8. ADJOURNMENT
The next meeting of the Parks & Recreation Commission is scheduled to be held on Thursday,
January 15 at 7:00 p.m. at Burlingame Recreation Center.
There being no further business, the meeting adjourned at 7:41 pm.
